THE COMMISSION FURTHER <br />RECOMMENDS THAT ALL OF THAT AREA ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF EUGENE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD <br />ON THE 2ND DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1948, LYING EAST OF FRIENDLY STREET IN THAT AREA COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE FRIENDLY STREET ANNEXATION AREA, BE CLASSiFIED UNDER THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br />OF EUGENE, IN THE R-I, SINGLE FAMILY CLASSIFICATION, AND THAT AREA LYING WEST OF FRIENDLY <br />STREET, IN THE FRIENDLY STREET ANNEXATION AREA, BE CLASSIFIED UNDER THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE, IN THE R-A OUTER RESIDENTIAL CLASSIFICATION. <br /> <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSiON FURTHER RECOMMENDS THAT THE APPLICATION OF HENRY R. BYERS FOR THE <br />RECLASSIFICATION OF HIS PROPERTY LOCATED ON FRANKLIN BOULEVARD, NEAR THE EAST CITY LIMITS, OF <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE, FROM R-I, RESIDENTIAL CLASSIFICATION, TO C-I, LIMITED COMMERCIAL CLASSIFI- <br />CATION, BE DENIED FOR THE REASON THAT THE PLANNING COMMISSION FEELS THAT IT WOULD BE BEST <br />THAT THE ENTIRE AREA BE TREATED AND ZONED TOGETHER, RATHER THAN IN INDIVIDUAL PARCELS. <br /> <br />THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FURTHER RECOMMENDS THAT ALL THAT AREA LYING SOUTH OF <br />FRANKLIN BOULEVARD TO FIFTEENTH STREET AND EAST OF FAIRMOUNT BOULEVARD, IF THE SAME WERE <br />EXTENDED, TO THE INTERSECTI?N OF FRANKLIN BOULEVARD AND FIFTEENTH STREET, IF THE SAME WERE <br />EXTENDED, BE CHANGED TO C-I, LIMITED COMMERCIAL CLASSiFICATION. <br /> <br />THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION FURTHER RECOMMENDS THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF A TWENTY <br />FOOT UNOPENED AND UNNAMED DRIVE OR STREET IN AGATE PLAT, IN THE PROPERTY OWNED BY MR. WAYNE <br />JAMISON." <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY HAWN, SECONDED BY DAVIS THAT THAT PORTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S REPORT <br />REFERRING TO THE ANNEXED AREAS BE ADOPTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />IT WAS FURTHER MOVED BY HAWN, SECONDED BY BOOTH THAT THE BALANCE OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S <br />REPORT BE ADOPTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br /> <br />I I A REPORT OF THE BOARD OF APPEALS - RE: WAIVER OF PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE WAS SUB- <br />MITTED AND READ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />,'~, ~<. _1 <br /> <br />"A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ApPEALS WAS HELD JANUARY 7, 1949 TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING <br />REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF PROVISIONS OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />MR. ROBERT JOHNSTON WHO OWNS PROPERTY AT 1432 VILLARD STREET; THIS PROPERTY HAS A SMALL <br />GARAGE HOUSE ON THE REAR OF THE LOT CONTAINING A BEDROOM, BATH AND COMBINATION KITCHENETTE <br />AND LIVING ROOM OVER THE GARAGE. MR. JOHNSTON DESIRES TO BUILD A RESIDENCE IN FRONT WHICH <br />WOULD MAKE TWO RESIDENCES TO THE LOT. THE LOT CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 11,000 SQUARE FEET AND <br />THE TOTAL AREA OF THE TWO BUILDINGS WILL APPROXIMATE 1,860 SQUARE FEET. <br /> <br />SINCE THE NEW HOUSE WILL SET BACK 25 FEET FROM VILLARD STREET AND THERE WILL BE 78 <br />FEET BETWEEN THE TWO HOUSES, AND CONSIDERING THE AREA OF THE LOT THE BOARD OF APPEALS APPROVED <br />THiS REQUEST OF MR. JOHNSTON TO CONSTRUCT AN ADDITIONAL DWELLING ON HIS PROPERTY." <br /> <br />IT WAS MOVED BY CRUMBAKER, SECONDED BY HAWN THAT THE REPORT BE ADOPTED.
