REMONSTRANCE PETITIONS AGAINST SIDEWALK INSTALLATION ON THE WEST SIDE OF HARRIS <br />STREET BETWEEN 25TH AND 26TH AND 28TH AND 29TH AVENUES WAS AGAIN REVIEWED~ INASMUCH AS <br />THE OVER-ALL MAJORITY or THE PEOPLE LIVING BETWEEN 25TH AND 29TH AVENUE TOTALING 53.7% <br />HAVE PETITIONED FOR THESE SIDEWALKS AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY WOULD PROVIDE INCREASED <br />SAFETY FOR CHILDREN AND PEDESTRIANS IN THIS AREA, AND PARTICULARLY THOSE GOING TO THE <br />HARRIS STREET SCHOOL, IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE COUNCIL AUTHORIZE THAT THIS PROJECT GO <br />AHEAD. THE IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCES HAVE ALREADy BEEN PASSED. <br /> <br />5. 'THE PAVEMENT OF MADISON STREET.FROM 18TH AVENUE TO 21ST AVENUE WAS REVIEWED AND THE <br />COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THAT THIS PROJECT BE WITHHELD UNTIL THE ACTUAL PERCENTAGE OF THOSE <br />PROTESTING THE IMPROVEMENT tOULD aE ASCERTAINED.
