THIS PARTICULAR JOB WAS RECOMMENDED TO BE HELD UP UNTIL 23RD <br />AVENUE COULD BE PAVED BETWEEN ARTHUR AND CLEVELAND STREETS. COMMUNICATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON REQUESTING CITY,PARTICIPATION IN RELOCA- <br />TION OF A SANITARY SEWER LINE - THE COMMITTEE DISCUSSED A COMMUNICATION FROM THE <br />UNIVERSITY OF OREGON IN WHICH THE UNIVERSITY REQUESTED THE CITY TO JOIN WITH THEM IN THE <br />RELOCATION OF A SANITARY SEWER LINE WHICH RUNS FROM 18TH AVENUE TO fRANKLIN BOULEVARD, <br />THROUGH THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON CAMPUS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />IN THEIR LETTER, THE UNIVERSITY INDICATED THAT THIS PARTICULAR LINE, BEING AN EIGHT <br />INCH SANITARY SEWER, HAD OVERFLOWED AND BACKED UP YNTO THE BASEMENT OF CARSON HALL, <br />LOCATED AT 13TH AVENUE AND EMERALD STREET. THE UNIVERSITY INDICATED THAT THEIR <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY'S ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT HAVE STUDIED A POSSIBLE <br />RELOCATION OF THIS SANITARY SEWER AND HAVE DETERMINEQ THAT IT SHOULD BE RELOCATED EAST AT <br />A POINT MIDWAY BETWEEN EMERALD AND BEECH STREETS ON 14TH AVENUE FOR APPROXIMATELY 150 TO <br />185 FEET, THEN NORTH ON BEECH STREET FOR APPROXIMATELY 400 FEET, AND ON NORTH FOR AN <br />ADDVTfONAlL 400 FEET,TO JOIN WITH THE CITY~S 27 INCH INTERCEPTOR SEWER LINE. THE <br />ESTIMATED COST OF A 15 INCH LINE FROM THE POIN~ WHERe THE SEWER WOULD BE RELOCATED, BEING <br />MIDWAY BETWEEN EMERALD AND ,BEECH STREETS ON 14TH AVENUE, FOR A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATELY <br />f50 TO 185 FEET, RUNNING EAST ON 14TH AVENUE. <br /> <br />THE COMMITTEE DISCUSSED THIS REQUEST, BUT DID NOT FEEL THAT THE CITY SHOULD, or <br />NECESSITY, HAVE TO PAY ANY OF THE COST SINCE THE RELOCATION WAS BEING DONE TO BENEFIT <br />THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~ <br />
