DISCUSSION WAS ALSO HAD ON THE AUTHORITY OF THE CITY TO CONTROL SPEEDS <br /> ON ITS VARIOUS STREETS. COUNCILMAN MOLHOLM ALSO REMARKED THAT HE <br /> H II <br /> ,I HAD HAD A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FROM BUSINESS HOUSES USING WATER COOLED AIR <br /> I <br /> , CONDITIONING UNITS AND WHICH HAD A SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE IN THE WATER USER <br /> :1 <br /> : CHARGE BECAUSE OF THE VOLUME OF WAfER USED IN SUCH AIR,CONDIT.lONING UNITS., <br /> HE. POINTED OUT THAT THESE PEOPLE USE THE WATER ONLY DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS ,I <br /> WHEN THE LOAD ON THE SEWERS IS NOT EQUAL TO' THAT OF THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN <br /> THE SYSTEM BECOMES OVERLOADED. MR. ROBBINS STATED THE CASCADE BUILDING WHICH <br /> EMPLOYES SUCH A SYSTEM HAD HAD AN INCREASE OF FROM $1.00 TO $3.00 SEWER CHARGE <br /> TO $45.72. IT WAS ALSO POtNTED.OUT THAT SOME INDIVIDUALS IN THE CITY USE WELLS <br /> ;! FOR AIR CONDITIONING PURPOSES AND ARE PAYING NOTHING FOR THE WATER COMING FROM <br /> SUCH WELLS,AND BEING DISCHARGED INTO THE SEWER SYSTEM, ALTHOUGH IT WAS EX- <br /> " <br /> i' PLAINED THAT UNDER THE ORDINANCE THESE PEOPLE WOULD BE REQUIRED TO METER THE <br /> !
