<br />Parking Committee, submitted by two of the members, which differed somewhat
<br />from the report of the overall study committee. On further discussion. by
<br />the Council, it was recommended that the Council consider this at a later
<br />date.

<br />2. Oakway Right-of-Way Width - The City Manager again presented the drawing' '
<br />of the recommended 70-foot right-of-way on,9akway Road, and the Council
<br />members hav~ng viewed the site of the proposed Oakway Road widening proj-
<br />ect, Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to accept the 70-foot right-of-
<br />way:recommendation and, proceed as recommended. '

<br />Mr. Hilty was again present at this meeting and opposed the acceptance of
<br />the 70-foot right-of-way. Also"Mr~,Aschenbrenner, representing the
<br />Methodist Church, spoke, stating that the Church had revised their think-
<br />ing on the Oakway:Road widening project after viewing the Engineers' lay-
<br />out of ,the'r,ight-of-way adjacent to their property.

<br />A vote was taken on the motion to accept the 70-foot right-of-way, and

<br />Mr. Hall of 1175 O,akway Road gave a repor.t, on. the -number.-of trees ,which,vlOuld becre- -'
<br />moved in the 6-foot width reques1:, on the east side of. 'Oakway :Road"," also on: the' re-
<br />quest for 10 feet on the east side of Oakw9-Y Road. Mr., Halt stated tnatin ,the: 6-foot
<br />width there would be a loss of 10 ~rees, and in the la-foot strip requested there
<br />would be a loss of 18 trees. AI-so, he stated that in a discussion whrch "nad been held
<br />at his home the neighborhood felt that they would rather lose 6 feet from their front
<br />yards than 10, and requested the Council to recons{der theoriginal,motion to accept
<br />the 70-foot right-of-way and reduce this to 66 feet. _ ,Also: speaking '.:to ,-support ,:this
<br />recommendation were Mr. Eugene Harlow 'and Mr. Ralph Robinson.

<br />stated an offer had been received from Matrix Investors on CitY-Qwned
<br />property: at '35t:h and Potter. The' amount :offered was 'app'roxirriately $f; 200.00
<br />which amount is equal to the assessments against the property. Mr.Chatt
<br />moved seconded by Mr. Christensen that the City.:calLforbidson,thesale
<br />of this property. Motion carried.

<br />The City Manager stated a bid call had been advertised for the sale of,this property,
<br />but no bids had been: received, and,the staf,f recommended thattheCouncil:ac'cept'- the
<br />offer from Matrix Investors to purchase the property for $1,215.79. Mr. Chatt moved

<br />4. Abatement. Holemar. 3635 and.3637 East ,Amazon Drive - Mr. Hill, attorney
<br />for Mr. Holemar, presented a list of items needed to bring this house up
<br />to Code, concerning electrical, plumbing, and building codes: .'= However,
<br />he asked the Council to grant Mr. Holemar a variance on the height of the
<br />ceiling, there being but' a 2~':'differerice in the requested height and that
<br />allowe& 'by t'he C'ode.: He also requested a variance which would allow 2x3
<br />studs to remain i~ the building 'fn'stead of replac ing them' with' the re-
<br />quired 2x4 studs. After some discussion, Mr. Swanson moved seconded by
