Markengayle Addition - The improvement <br />was petitioned by owners of 32.5% of the properties to be assessed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the petition be approved, Motion de- <br />feated, Messrs. Deverell, Hawk, Crakes, and Purdy voting no (Mr.Swanson still out <br />of the meeting). <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />5. Paving Portland, 27th to south boundary Frasier-Hyland Addition _ <br />The petition carried signatures of owners of 56% of the abutting <br />properties. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />6. Paving and sewers Garfield. 28th to 29th; and 29th west of Garfield- <br />Owners of 72% of the affected properties petitioned the improvement. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />7. Paving and sidewalk Center Way. Snell to Necter - Petitioned by <br />owners of 65% of the properties to be assessed. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />8. Paving Monroe. 1st Avenue to Southern Pacific Railroad - Owners of <br />55% of the affected properties petitioned the improvement. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br />9. Paving S~ of north/south alley between Lawrence and Lincoln, 10th <br />and 11th - This petition carried signatures of owners of 100% of <br />the properties to be assessed. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />10. Paving 27th. Washington to Jefferson - Petitioned by owners of 91% <br />of the properties to be assessed. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />11. Paving and sewers 38th Court from 38th Avenue south - This petition <br />carried signatures of owners of 100% of the affected properties. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the improvement petitions in Items 5 <br />through 11 be approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Swanson returned to the Council meeting at this point. <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />12. Paving alley between Charnelton and Lincoln. 23rd to 25th - This <br />petition carried signatures of owners of 34% of the affected properties. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the petition for paving the alley in <br />Item 12 be denied. Motion carried, Messrs. Swanson and Crakes voting no. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />13. Traffic Signal. 6th and Pearl - The City Manager presented an agreement <br />to be entered into between the State of Oregon Highway Commission and <br />the City of Eugene for the installation of a traffic light at the inter- <br />section of 6th Avemue (Highway 99W) and Pearl Street.
