Green Flying Service Lease. Amendment - Mr. Dale Green, through his <br />attorney, James P. Harrang, requested the City's consent to assignment <br />of Jesse V. Green's interest in the lease agreement between the City <br />of Eugene and Green Flying Service to Dale Green. Dr. Purdy moved <br />seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the lease assignment. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 8 of the Committee report be approved. <br />Rollcall vote, All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />9. Offer to Purchase Property. 24th and University - An offer of $500 had <br />been made by Mr. John Brandt for the east 115 feet x 35 feet of City- <br />owned land at. the southwest corner of 24th and University. Mr,Christen- <br />sen moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to recommend selling the property for <br />$600, the zoning to remain the same, and to recommend that the City <br />Attorney draw up an agreement between the City of Eugene and Mr,Brandt. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Item 9 of the Committee report be approved. <br />Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />10. Planning Commission Report - March 3, 1964 <br />a. Vacation Miller Lane - The Planning Commission recommended the <br />vacation of the remainder of Miller Lane located between City <br />View Street and Lot 1, Block 4, Highland Oaks Subdivision. The <br />vacation had also been recommended for approval by the Public <br />Works Department, Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Christensen <br />to approve the proposed vacation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />b. Vacation Utility Easement Lot 16, Block 8. Milton Reid Addition - <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of the vacation of <br />utility easement along the east boundary of Lot 16, Block 8, <br />Milton Reid Addition, the utility easement no longer being needed <br />by Eugene Water & Electric Board. The Public Works Department <br />also recommended approval of the vacation. Dr, Purdy moved <br />seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve vacation of the easement. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />11. Parking Prohibition Franklin Boulevard at Agate Street - The American <br />Oil Company requested prohibition of on-street parking on the north <br />side of Franklin Boulevard at the Agate Street intersection in front <br />of their station. The Traffic Engineer recommended that the present <br />no-parking area along University property on the north side of Frank- <br />lin Boulevard be extended approximately 1000 feet to the east. <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. Lauris to approve the recommenda- <br />tion for the removal of 1000 feet of parking. Motion carried. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />12. Paving streets in Meadowlark Addition - The petition for the improve- <br />ment was signed by owners of 93,7% of the total front footage of <br />properties to be assessed. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr.Deverell <br />to approve the request for the improvement. Motion carried," <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that Items lOa, lOb, 11, and 12 of the Com _ <br />mittee report be approved. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Committee meeting held April 9, 1964: <br /> <br />"Present: Mayor Cone; Councilmen Lauris, Swanson, Christensen, Deverell, <br />Crakes, Hawk, and Purdy; City Manager; Assistant City Manager; <br />City Attorney; City Recorder; Director of Public Works; and <br />others. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />1. Double Wall Construction. Ordinance No. 12396 - The Superintendent of <br />Building Inspection recommended repeal of Ordinance No. 12396 concern- <br />ing requirement for double wall construction in frame construction of <br />housing. Letters are on file from the Douglas Fir Plywood Associa- <br />tion, local architects and builders recommending that the portion of <br />the Eugene Building Code regarding double wall construction require- <br />ment be de~ed.
