Motion carried. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />3. Bailey Lane/School Site Plan -,Mr. Roy:Erdmann, .assistant superintendent <br />of District No. 4 for buildings, presented layouts showing three different <br />proposals for the proposed site for the construction of a school in the <br />Bailey Lane area. All three plans concerned the utilization of City <br />property, in conjunction with School District 4 property; The Director <br />of Public.Works explained to the Council members the streets involved <br />and the approaches to.the school-park site. No deci~ion was reached <br />on the discussion which followed, and.the:matter will be brought up at <br />the Council meeting on Monday, May 11, 1964, for a staff recommendation. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Manager read a motion which was to be presented at the School Board meeting <br />on May 11, 1964 regarding exchange of property between School District No. 4 and the <br />City of Eugene; The City Manager recommended that the Common Council make a similar <br />motio~ regarding property,excharge. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt that the Common Council of the City of Eugene <br />approve an exchange:of Feal property of, equal value,with Schobl District No. :4, Lane <br />County, Oregon, in order to provide for the joint development of a school~park site <br />adjacent to Bailey Lane. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to amend the ~otion to state:if at all possible <br />to make the main access to the school off of Coburg Road. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A vote was then taken on'the original motion'as amended, aqd mot~on carried. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />4. Paving and sanitary sewers Miles Vista Subdivision - This was a request <br />forpaving.by Mr. Miles Kontich of a street off C~ty View,and, on call.for <br />discussion by the Mayor; Mr. Gilmore wqo owns property adjacent to the <br />Kontich property, protested the location of the:street as is 'now presented. <br />:Since most of the discussion concerned the location of the proposed road <br />or street, Mr; Christensen moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to refer the item <br />back to the Planning Commission. Motion carried. ~t <br /> <br />, <br />--;' <br /> <br />Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt, to approve Item 4 of the Committee report. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Items on May 7, 1964 Committe? agenda not con~ide~ed at that time: <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />1. Paving alley between Lincoln and Charnelton, 13th to 14th -'The Ctty:Manager <br />pre~ented a:petition'for this Raving signed, by 9wners of .53% of.the property <br />affected, stating there is a sanitary se~er'in the 9-11ey ~hi~~ should be <br />'reconstructed at City expense estimated at $8,100. Rezoning to C-l or R-4 3210 Willamette, Sahlstrom (64-040) - Mr.Larry <br />An~erson representing Mr., Sah~strom a~dressed the Cou!J,cil:in regard to <br />t~e request?d zone c~ange. He stated.that a service station could be <br />built at, this location, or if th9-t typ~ of'z9ning:is not approved ,then <br />a multiple dwe11 inK. ' <br /> <br />. . <br />Mr. D?ve Pederson representing the Pla!J,ning:Comm~ss~on explained that <br />the Council and Planning Commission had denied R-3G zoning on property <br />imm~diately to the north.: It wa~ felt that the:property~in this ar~a <br />on the west side of Willamette Street shou19 remain re~id~nti~l. <br /> <br />Mrs. Laurismoyed seconded py Mr. Chatt to uphold the Plabning,Co~i~sio!J, and d~ny the <br />rezoning: request.
