<br />The Planning Commission at their June 8, 1964 noon meeting ,recommended app~oval of the
<br />extension of the variance with the exceptibn ~f the s~rvice station, and providing the
<br />property owners provide approximately 100 parking spaces on the property which they
<br />control. This stipulation was to be written into the~reso1:utioh~granting2tfiet~xten-
<br />ston0of~tge!variance.

<br />stud:ent, since: the meetings are open to the public and 'since' .the' :student

<br />City Ma,nager explained that.,th,e DLtector, of Publi'c Works and the Gity
<br />Manager- r,eco:mm,ended entering into' a con~ract with Cornell'" Howland, Hayes
<br />& Merryfield, engineering consultants, for the design of ~ pumping station
<br />and pressure line for sewers in the Bethel-Danebo area. The Public 'Works
<br />DirectoF sa,id ,that the proposed construction cost is estimated at ,$710,000
<br />and that the Engineers' fe'e" for design will: be 6.75% of the construction
<br />cost, :les:s $2500 whic:h has previously been pa{d to dor:nel:l,: Howla:nd,' Hayes,

<br />the frontage affected for this p'aving, 50% if t,he paving ,extended to 'the
<br />cul-de-sac, 'was presented, and Mr". Cha,tt m,o,;ed :seconded by Dr.' Purdy to
<br />approve it. Mr. Christensen questione'd, the cre'ation ofa cul-de'-sac on
<br />a dead end street, saying he felt t,here 'may be a future need for a through
<br />street and residences would block 'this." Mr. Christensen moved' seconded by
<br />Mr. Crakes to hold this item over. Motion carried.
