Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Deverell to <br /> approv~withdrawing the petition. Motion carried. <br />1 8. Salvation Army Storage Hut, 645 Olive - A letter was read from Captah <br /> Oliver Stenvick of the Salvation Army requesting the City Council to <br /> permit the Salvation Army to use the storage hut at 645 Olive Street <br /> through June 1965. Upon discussion, the Council was advised that <br /> there is no provision in the Code for temporary structures,except con- <br /> struction shacks near'construction projects. Mr. Christensen moved <br /> seconded by Dr. Purdy to deny the request of the Salvation Army..Motion <br /> carried. e <br />2 9. Building Code Compliance, 934 Washington, Huey - Mr. Don Huey, ,2861 <br /> Alder Street, had been advised by the Building Department to make four <br /> corrections to the apartment house at 934. Washington Street to enable <br /> the Building Department to issue a certificate of occupancy. An exten- <br /> sion to comply with the Code by June 12, 1964 had been granted Mr. Huey <br /> by the Building Department. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Hawk I <br /> that Mr. Huey be asked to comply with the Code as directed by the Build- <br /> ing Department. Motion carried, Dr. Purdy voting no. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Items 1 through 9 of the Committee <br /> report. Motion carried. <br />3 10. Purchase Randall-Brist property, 27th and High - Mr. Chatt moved seconded <br /> by Dr. Purdy to approve purchasing the Randall-Brist property at 27th <br /> Avenue and High Street for $4800. Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 10 of the Committee report. <br /> Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br />4 11. Segregation of Assessment, 35th and East Amazon, Buck - Mr. Jack Buck had <br /> requested the segregation of assessment for the paving of 35th Avenue <br /> and East Amazon Drive to apply against three parcels of the original <br /> Lots 15 and 16, 3rd Addition to Sunny Hollow. Lot 15 had been assessed <br /> for $485.49, and Lot 16, $1638.18. The request was to segregate the <br /> assessment so: Parcel 1 ~ $323.67; Parcel 2 - $909.66; and Parcel 3 - <br /> $890.34. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve the segrega- <br /> tion request. Motion carried. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 11 of the Committee report. <br /> Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. Sidewalk, west side of Donald from 38th to between 40th and 41st - The <br /> Public Works .Department requested that consideration be given to in- <br /> stallation of sidewa1k on.this section. Mr. Christensen moved seconded <br /> by Dr. . Purdy t6 app~ove the sidewalk install~tion~ Mot io n: carried. <br /> ., <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 12 of the Committee report. <br /> Motion carried. - <br />6 13. Easement Exchange, Sunset to Skyline, Rubenstein - The 'Public Works <br /> Department requested execution of a quitclaim deed exchangin~ a sewer <br /> easement on the Harry Rubenstein property between Sunset Drive and <br /> Skyline.Boulevard (Lot 14) for another on. the sa~e pro~erty. The <br /> existing easement cannot (; be used for sewer construction. Mr. Chatt <br /> moved seconded by Mr.:Crakes .to approve the easement exchange. Motion <br /> carried. . <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 13 of.the Committ~e report. <br /> Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br />7 l4~ Old Fire Trucks - Ihe City Manager stated an agreement had:been reached <br /> between the Lane County Pioneer Museum-and the Firef{ghters Association <br /> for the housing of the old Eugene Fire Department ladder truck and an ~ <br /> old.fire truck now located:at Mahlon Sweet Field: Theseirucks~ill I <br /> be kept at the Pioneer Museum, maintained.and used -upon certain:occasions <br /> by the Firefighters Association. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by <br /> Dr. Purdy to allow the housing of the t'rucks in the:Pioneer Museum under <br /> the proposed arrange,nt between the Lane County Pioneer Museum and the <br /> Firefighters Association.
