Coburg Road Right-of-Way at Harlow Road, Hafdahl- The City Manager ex- <br />plained that Mr. Rolland Hafdahl had previously:reque~ted a:minor subdivi2 <br />sion of property at the southeast corner of Coburg and Harlow Roads, and <br />the subdivision had been approved subject to dedication of a 12-foot strip <br />for road purposes: How~ver, Mr. Hafdahl had no~ made such dedication, so <br />the subdivision had not been given final approval. Mi. Hafdahl has now <br />applied for a building permit to allow construction on a po~tionof the . <br />same property, and the building permit has been withheld because no minor I <br />'subdivision has.been approved pending::dedication of the 12":foot:strip. <br />Mr. Hafdahl is requesting $3000 for the land which would allow widening <br />of Coburg Road. Mr. Bocci, representing Mr. Hafdahl, was present and stated <br />. it :is' the property owner's coritention t.hat .the :City is not fair in purchas- <br />ing right-of-way from:other:ptoperty:owners :along Coburg Road, and that the <br />building permit is being withheld in order to acquire the land. The City <br />Manager stated that subdividers are required by tegulations:goverriing de- <br />velopment of subdivis~ons to dedicate landfor street purpos~s. ~ <br /> <br />Mr. Christensen:moved seconded by:Mr. Hawk that the 'Cityreject Mr. Haf- <br />dahl'~ offer t6 sell the l2":foot strip io the City foi $3000, and that <br />minor subdivision r.equirements be met before"a :building permit is :issued. <br />Motion carried, Mr. Chatt voting no. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />A letter from Mr. Hafdahl was read by the members of the Council, :the letter restat- <br />ing Mr. Hafdahl's contention concerning the property in question. <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve.Item 3:of.the Committee report. <br />Rollcall vote. Vacation l'st Avenue, ,Giustina.:'; Giustina :Bros. plan to move a log <br />. scaling platform from the south side to the north side of 1st Avenue <br />:a:nd requestvacatitin of the west 315 feet. of 1st Avenue. The riew loca- I <br />tion of the scaling platform will necessitate cross.ing Lst :Avenue by: <br />trucks in the transportation of logs to and from their storage area.
