Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve Item 6 of the Committee report. Motion carried, Mr. Swanson voting no. 1 7. Exposed Aggregate Sidewalk. Law Lane. Porter - Mr. Glen Porter requested approval of installing a sidewalk with exposed aggregate at the side of a new residence on Law Lane. The request had the approval of the Public Works Department. Mr. Christensen moved seconded by Mr. Crakes to ap- prove the request. Motion carried, Dr. Purdy voting no." e Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to approve Item 7 of the Committee report. Motion carried. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Christensen that the staff be asked to make a recom- mendation on the size of exposed aggregate to be used. Motion carried. Items on October 8, 1964 committee agenda not considered at that time: I 2 1. Planning Commission Report - September 28. 1964 a. Annexation area at northwest corner Gilham Road and Holly Avenue. General Properties (64-120) 3 b. Annexation area north and east of Minnesota Street. General Prop- erties ( 64-117) Both annexations were petitioned by 100% consent, and the Planning Commission recommended the areas be annexed. Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to annex the areas as petitioned. Motion carried. 4 c. Amend Code. Building Permits - The Planning Commission recommended the Eugene City Code be amended to provide that applicants for build- ing permits must comply with zoning and subdivision regulations before building permits are issued. Mrs. Lauris m9ved seconded by Mr. Swanson that the recommended Code amendment be made. Motion carried. 5 2. Sidewalk. Coburg Road south of Oakway - The Public Works Department recommended that the City enter into an agreement with the State High- way Commission for construction of a 5-foot sidewalk along the easterly I side of Coburg Road through the Interstate 105 interchange. The agree- ment calls for the State to pay not more than $800 of the construction cost, with the City paying the balance of the construction cost, pre- paring the plans, and do the actual construction. The City also is to assume maintenance of the sidewalk when completed. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Swanson to enter into the agreement with the State Highway Commission for the construction of a sidewalk on the east side of Coburg e Road through the Interstate 105 interchange south of Oakway Road. Motion carried. 6 3. Sewer Petition - 9th Place at Garfield - A petition was submitted by owners of 54% of the property which would be assessed for the con- struction of a sanitary sewer between 9th Place and 10th Avenue at Garfield Street. Mr. Swanson moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the petition. Motion carried. 7 4. Curb Sidewalk. 5th Addition to Echo Hollow - Mr. J. H. Sorenson re- quested permission to locate sidewalks at the curb in 5th Addition to Echo Hollow Park. Curb sidewalk location was recommended on Willhi Street between Echo Hollow Road and Catalina Street, and a standard . setback sidewalk was recommended west of Catalina Street because of the 28-foot paving on a 50-foot right-of-way. I Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy that sidewalks be located at the curb as requested in 5th Addition to Echo Hollow Park. Motion.carried . 10/12/64 - 9 e II ....IIIIl
