The Public Works Department <br />recommen~ed .thqt the requirement be waived for the 11th Avenue side <br />and a conditional waiver be granted for the Patterson Street side <br />until pedestrian volume warrants the full width sidewalk. Mrs. <br />Lauris moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the recommendatwn. <br />Mot.ion carried. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />5. Paving and sewer. Birchwood Park - Mr. Chatt moved seconded by <br />Mr. McNutt to approve a 100% petition for .paving and sewer in Birch- <br />wood Park. Motion carried. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />6. Paving 5th from Wilson to west boundary Eugene Industrial Tract. <br />and Conger and Wilson from 7th Place to 11th; sewer between McKinley <br />and west boundary of Eugene Industrial Tract from 7th Place to 11th - <br />This petition carried signatures of pwners of 71% of the total front <br />footage of the properties to be assessed. Mr. Chatt moved seconded <br />by Mr. Hawk to approve the petition. Motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />7. Paving all street.s in Chevy Chase Addition - Dr. Purdy moved seconded <br />by Mr. Anderson to approve a 100% petition for paving all streets in <br />Chevy Chase AdditiQn. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />8. Paving Tabor Street from Goodpasture Island Road. to south boundary <br />of Cow Palace Addition. and Jeppesen Avenue in Cow Palace Addition - <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purd~ to approve a 100% petition <br />for paving these streets. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Mrs. LauDs to approve Items 4 through 8 of the Committee <br />report. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />9. Airport Commission Report - February 17. 1965 <br />A. Fixed Base Operation Lease - The Council had previously receLved <br />a request from Mr. Jack York and associates to take over the lease <br />of Mr. Ruberg for a fixed base operation at Mahlon Sweet Airport <br />and had referred the m~tter to the Airport Commission for a recom- <br />mendation. The A~rport Commission now recommends that the Ruperg <br />lease be canceled, and that Mr. York be permitted to lease the old <br />United ~ir Lines building for 12 months, with a 6-months extension <br />privilege, at $250 per month, for a fixed base operation. Dr. Purdy <br />. moved seconded by Mr. Chatt to approve the recommendation. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved se~onded by Mr. Cra~es to approve Item 9a of the Committ,ee report. <br />Rollcall vote. All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />10. Downtown Study Committee Report - February 12. 1965 <br />a. 10th and Mill Lot. Coen - Mr. Coen had offered to sell this lot to <br />the City to be included in the off-street. parking assessment dis- <br />trict. The Downtown Study Committee reported that that committee <br />felt the Coen lot had no bearing on the downtown parking ~istrict <br />at this time. However, that the lot could be considered at a later <br />date for possible inclusion in the project. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />b. 10th and High. Bronson - Mr. Bronson had offered to lease this Ipt <br />to the City of us~ in the off-street parking project. After study- <br />ing the proposal made by Mr. Bronson, the committee reported they <br />felt they were not prepared to make a commitment on the property <br />at th is. time. and recommended the City take .no act ion to lease the <br />property. <br /> <br />Mr. Chatt moved s~conded by Mr. Crakes to accept the report of the Down- <br />town StudyCommitt~e, and no further action was taken. Motion carried. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />11. Abatement 2130 Pierce Street. Milton - Mr. Clarence Milton of 2130 <br />Pierce Street had been notified by the Public Wprks Department in <br />October 1964 to correct certain deficiencie~ in the building~ on his <br />property. An inspection was made on February 5, 1965 by the building <br />department, and it was reported the property had further deteriorated. <br />The superintenqent of b4ilding inspection ~QW .re~ommends. ~hat the exist- <br />ing buildings be wrecked and removed from the premises.
