Campbell of 252 Pearl Street had been:notified by the superintendent of.building inspection in October 1964 regarding the condition of h{s:property.at 777 East:Broadway and pointing out specific corrections to be made to :bring the property and building up to standard sanitary. conditions; Since no action had been taken by the owner to correct the condition, the superintendent of building inspection now recommends that abatemenG proceedings 'be started for the 'wrecking and removal 'of the: bliilding. ',and debris. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy~toapprove abatemen~ proceedings. Motion carried. e 2 13. Parking Prohibition Ferry Street north of 11th - The Public Works De~ partment :recommended that :parking be prohibited on the west side of ' Ferry',Street north of ,11th Avenue. ~ Also, :that parking be limited to, two .hours at 9.00, to the .center1ine of the street on the east side :o~f : Ferry Street adjacent .to the .U-Lane-O:Corporation building north,of 11th Avenue. Mr. Chatt moved seconded by Dr. Purdy to approve the parking ;l"estrictions as recommended. Motion carried.: I 3 14. Parking Meters. Alder from 11th-Millrace - Edwin M. Wheeler 'of Westwood Furnishings requested installation of parking meters on Alder from 11th north to the millrace. After investigation; the'.Ptib1ic Works Department recommended that no extension of parking limitations', either by metering or signing; be made at this time. On further discussion, it :was recom- mended to defer this matter until' the pr-evious :p1an for tr-affic movement and parking in the Alder Street area can be reviewed. No action was taken. 4 15. School Zone Signs. 16th and Jefferson - A petition was. 'submitted '~e- questing consideration of installation of school zone signs at the intersection of 16th and Jefferson ,near the- entrance of. St. Ma~y'supper schoo1~ :After investigation, the Public'Works Department reported that a painted crosswalk had been installed as a r-esul.t of the :investigation butthe"volume of foot traffic does not warrant either '.a school cross- ingzone. or a 20-mph school speed-zone sigri.
