<br />1 3. Garbage Rates- Mr. Ervin Molholm, chairman of the Garbage Board" stated the Board'had
<br />met three times with garbage haulers and had 'pl'epared a resolution which would: change
<br />the rates for container.service established June 14,' 1965. Copies:of the proposed
<br />resolution were distributed to: Council membel's. :Also"a schedule showing the current
<br />container rate, rates proposed by Mr. Donald Lindgren of Industrial Refuse Service and
<br />by Mr. George Woodric::h, attorney for the:garbage haulers, and:the rate proposed by the:
<br />Garbage Board was distributed. '

<br />Mr. Phillip Cass,attorney for Mr; Lindgren, statedthat:his client objected very much::
<br />to the proposed:rates b~Gause, .if he:chatges ,~is:cu~tomers at the can rate ,proposed in
<br />the schedule, he would 10seaU.his customers:and would be out of'bus'iness. Mr. tass
<br />suggested that the large container rate be based on an hourly pick up charge. After
<br />further discussion, Mr. Hawk moved seconded:by Dr. Purdy to refer the,matter back to
<br />the:Garbage Board for further study and:to decl-area moratorium'on the commercial rate .-
<br />structure during the interim. Motion carried. ,.,

<br />present rates on:commerclal :conta~rters up: to 3-yard capac~ty and negot~ate ,rates on 'larger than 3-yard ,
<br />capacity commercial containers~ He stated that his group felt agreement. can be reached on the large
<br />commercial container rates in a few weeks. Mr. Cass, speaking for Mr. Lindgren, recommended that the
<br />Gar,bage Board 'meet w,ith him artd Mr. Woodrich and :again discuss these rates. Itwa:s his contention'
<br />that agreement could be reached in a few days. Mr. Wallace Swanson read a letter from th,e Garbage
<br />Board which ,suggested :rates to be :used in the meantime. A letter from the Dog Hous'e Restaurant' con-
<br />c erning commercial rates was also. read.

<br />A vote on the niotion:was called for, and motion carried.

<br />2 4. Workable Program:- Mr. Richard :Sode~berg presented copies of a report :prepared by the
<br />Jaycees ,on a ,survey and study in ,connection with, recertification of :Euge~e' s Workabl~
<br />Program. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. McNu=t:t. to commend' 'the jay~ees. for the report.
