The Superintendent of Building Inspection said a separate ordina~ce <br />incorporating the Gas Code with the Mechanical Code will be brought back for later <br />consideration. Councilman,Lassen inquired if light and ventilation requirements in <br />this Code coinc~d~ with FHA requirements, and was told they do. counciiman Wingard <br />asked if anything 'further has developed with regard to plast;:ic pipe regulations, ,and <br />the Superintendent of Building Inspection said plastic standards are'includ~d in the <br />1967 Plumbing Code soon'to be considered, but the State has not yet approved use of <br />plastic pipe ,i~stallation~. Mr. McDonald moved sec~nded by Mr. Wingard to ad~pt the <br />1967 Uniform Building Code ordinance. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson moved seconded by Mrs.Lauristoapprove Item 10 of the'Committee report. <br /> <br />Councilman Wingard asked if the 20" depth for fireplaces would'eliminate the metal fireplaces now <br />being used in construction, and was told there has been no change. ~ <br /> <br />A vote was taken to approve adoption of the ordinance, and motion carried. <br /> <br />2 11. Harlow Road Right-of-way - The Public Works Department recommended purchase of a 20-foot <br />strip of land on the' south side of 'Harlow 'Road -between'Cherry and Walnut from Adoph, <br />Marilyn, and'Janice Potampa for $920.00 for widening Harlow Road. Councilman Wingard <br />asked about the i: imetable for the wide~ing proJect, and whether a sidewalk could be I <br />in~tal1ed now~ The Public Works ,Director saidpavin~is proposed for next summer and <br />that:: it would be better to do the entire p,roject at'that time.' Dr. Purdy moved <br />seconded by Mr. 'Anderson to buy the land. 'Motion'carried. <br /> <br />3 12. Assessment Segregation, P~terson Properti~s east of Elisworth Street - The ParksDe- <br />partment requested segregation of assessment for sewer construction on properties <br />recently deeded to the City by the Petersons for par~ purposes OD Royal east of <br />Elisworth. Segregated amounts of $199.38 and $169.46 have been paid,' leaving balances <br />of'$1,323.59 and $649.14. Mr. McNutt moved seconded by Mr. Anderson to allow the re- <br />quested'segregations. Truck Loading Zone, Cross Street at Railroad Boulevard, Mannings - The Public Works <br />Department recommended establishment of a 40-foot truck loading zone east' of Rail- <br />road Beuilievard on the south side of Cross Street requested by Mannings. Mr. Anderson <br />moved seconded, by Mr. McNutt to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. <br /> <br />6 15. Tow-Away Zone, High betw~en~Br~adway and 8th ~ The Public Works Department:: recom- . <br />mended establishment of a'tow-away zone between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. for the four park- <br />ing stalls between Broadway and 8th on the east side of High to facil~tiate traffic <br />movement between Broadway and 7th during peak hours. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by <br />Mr. Anderson to approve the recommendation. Motion carried. I <br /> <br />7 16. Two-Way Alleys, 5th to 7th, Willamette to Oak - The Public Works Department recom- <br />mendedestabllshing as two-way the alleys between 5th and 7th, Willamette'and Oak to <br />ease traffic movement in connection with the proposed parking facility at 'Wiliamette <br />and 7th.
