The Council has gone on recor~ opposing deletion.of pas- <br /> senger train service to this area. The Public Utility Commissioner offered legal serv- . <br /> ice to the city of Eugene to present the City's point of view at the ICC hearing. Planning Commission Report - August 26, 1968 <br /> a. Vacation 28th from High to 120 feet eas,t of_ Ferry, Larson et al .- The Planning ~ <br /> Commission recommended approval of this vacation on the condition that the north <br /> 16 feet_revert to the City for park purposes and the south 24 feet to the owners <br /> of abutting properties with the understanding that 12. feet of the -24-foot vacation <br /> would be deeded to. the l:;ity for park. purposes when the vacation becomes final; and <br /> on the condition that sufficient area Qe retained in the Ferry and Mill Streets .~" <br /> rights-of-way to provide for adequate turn-arounds and park access. It was ex- , ~ <br /> plained that the original dedication from properties abutting the right-of-way <br /> on the south was 24 feet, and under Oregon law vacated property reverts to the <br /> property from which it was originally dedicated when the original dedication can <br /> be- determined. The Manager ~aid. easements for utilities- would be retained, and <br /> that there is no reimbursement other than rededication of the l2-foot strip to <br /> the City. <br /> Mrs. Lauris moved seconded by Mr. McDonald to approve. the vacation as recommended. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> 4 b. Vacation Easement between 10th .and 11th west from Chambers, Lansdowne-Carr - <br /> The Planning Commission recommended approval of vacation of the l2-foot easement .' <br /> running 174.8 feet west from Chambers between 10th. and 11th. Annexation of. 1.06 acres on Floral Hill Drive south of East-26th, Blumenstein et -al- t <br /> The Planning Commission recommended approval of th~ 10070 consent annexation petition. <br /> It is anticipate.d sewers will be extended to the area. Dr. Purdy moved seconded by <br /> Mrs. Hayward to approve the annexation. Motion carried. <br /> 6 13. Ordinance, Amend Parking Assessment District, Land Use Changes - A proposed ordinance <br /> was read which would amend the assessment procedure for off-street parking assessment <br /> districts.
