<br />February 24, 1969 meeting to allow proper notice of assessment to be given owners of affected properties,
<br />and held for final approval until a report from the City administration regarding written objections'

<br />The City Attorney recommended that the Council proceed with final passage of this ordinance, since the
<br />legality of this type assessment is being tested in court. .

<br />The Manager explained that meetings were held between subdividers and the city staff to discuss this
<br />matter, and owners of homes previously built had been paying property taxes and sewer user charges,
<br />~metimes for many years. This was felt to be an equitable assessment. New subdivisions receive
<br />top priority for new sewers, and a large proportion of money budgeted for this purpose.
