All councilmen present voting aye, motion carried. <br /> I Mr. Lee Bishop said the Auditorium Association appreciated the Council action just taken, and that e <br /> the Board of Directors of the Association was meeting September 24 to take similar action. <br /> 4. Eugene Renewal Area Mall Study - The Director of the Renewal Ag~ncy requested.a meeting <br /> with the Council September 29, 1969 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Motion carried. <br />\ <br />I, 6. Personnel Policy Discussion - Discussion of holiday pay continued. Mr. Mills outlined <br />II <br />Ii the city position relative to pay for holidays.when an employe has been off work for <br />11 a three or four week period. A time limit has been proposed in which employes will <br /> !, be eligible for holiday pay. <br /> 'I <br />II <br />II Mr. Pat Flyhh explained the Fire Fighters industrial accident clause. For a period of <br />II six months the injured employe is paid in part by the state, and the remainder of his <br />'I salary by the City. After six months, the State makes a settlement, and if.the employe <br />Ii is still not able to work, theCity does not allow him to take sick leave. The Fire <br />II Fighters feel they should be allowed to take earned sick leave at this time. <br /> Mayor Anderson felt a philosophy needed to be established on sick leave before this <br /> I <br /> discussion could be settled. <br /> Regarding vacations, the Personnel Director outlined administration position relative I <br /> I to vacations, and said the Fire Fighters recommend a change in designation of accrual <br /> I after ten years service. There has been some variation in departments in the method of <br /> I accounting for vacation, and this proposal would eliminate the problem. <br /> II <br /> " <br /> I Councilman Gribskov felt for administrative purposes, the policy would have to be <br /> I followed that vacation has to be earned. <br /> I <br /> , <br /> j Post.said the employe group is advocating three weeks vacation after seven years <br /> II Mr. <br /> II and four weeks after fifteen years, to be more in line with other city employer ~ - <br /> practices.
