Lane County Auditorium Committee - Mr. Lee Bishop explained a-summary report re: Space <br />Facilities Program, which establishes the parameters of the proposed Auditorium facilities. <br />The Committee has requested a consensus of the Council feeling rrior to its June 17 plan- <br />ning review meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Ed Raggozino explained facilities proposed, and design concepts. Mr. John Amundson <br />explained areas of facilities, and how they would be shared. <br /> <br />Councilman McDonald entered the meeting. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mrs. Fort, member of the Lane Gounty Historic Preservation Committee, said they were <br />anxious.to have the auditorium, but were concerned that the vista of Skinner's Butte be <br />preserved. <br /> <br />.Mr. Don Lutes said they were equally concerned about the view of the Butte, and that many <br />things were planned for this area besides the Auditorium. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City Manager said the Planning Commission has been concerned with the view of the Butte, <br />and when they have enough information will meet with Eugene Renewal Agency and arrive at <br />conclusions about the-problem. <br /> <br />Mrs. Hayward moved seconded by Mr. Teague that the Council accept the concepts as outlined <br />by the Lane County Auditorium Associatien. Sanitary Sewer - Contract awarded in September of 1969 to <br />R. C. Parsons Construction Company was delayed pending negotiations for easements with <br />Southern Pacific Company. Southern Pacific Company has requested city forego assessment in <br />exchange for easement. 'City is not willing to compromise and feels it would be in the best <br />interest to buy the easement. Further extension of sewer has become desirable and staff <br />recommends cancellation and rebidding of contract. Contractor is agreeable to cancellation <br />of the contract. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Mr. Mohr moved seconded by Mr. Teague to' approve cancellation of contract 69-73 for sani- <br />tary sewer in area lying north of 5th Avenue. Barricade Old County Road - City has been trying to eliminate the diagonal street which <br />enters Coburg Road from Country Club Road. The staff recommends a public hearing to <br />bar~icade the south end, which would leave an entrance to the properties served by the - <br />str.eet. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />\ <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />~ I . <br /> <br />Dr. Purdy moved seconded by Mr. Teague to call a public hearing regarding erection of a <br />barricade,at the south end of Old County Road.'
