II <br /> - <br /> ~ ..~. II <br /> Dr. Purdy was interested to know what the <tifferences :-vere between the state and the proposed <br /> ci ty code. The Building Superintendent spelled out the more restrictive amendments. II <br /> Mr. Mitchem was still concerned, and felt there was some argument as to which amendments were most <br /> restrictive. <br /> Mayor Anderson explained what the Council was adopting. Mr. Mitchem said that he would have no <br /> objection if what they were adopting was the National Code with State Amendments. <br /> Mr. David Hoffman, Electrician, was concerned that there was still some misunderstanding as to what ,I <br />e was being adopted. He felt there had never been any discussion of the points just outlined by I' <br /> Mr. Mortier being included in the ordinance. ,I <br /> I <br /> II Mayor Anderson restated the motion for clarification: II <br /> II <br /> II l. That the National Electrical Code be adopted with appropriate state amendments which were :1 <br /> more restrictive. <br /> 2. illhat the old fee schedule be substituted for that indicated in the present ordinance. I, <br /> Ii <br /> I II <br /> I Mr. Hoffman reiterated that the Electrical Board had understood that the Council was going to adopt <br /> the National Electrical Code with the state supplement. <br /> I <br /> Mayor Anderson pointed out that the intent had been to use only the more restrictive state amendments. <br /> Ii <br /> Vote was taken on motion as stated. Mr. Williams, Mr. Mohr, Mrs. Hayward, Mrs. Be~l and Mr. Gribskov I <br /> voted in favor of the motion. Mr. Teague, Mr. McDonald and Dr. Purdy voted against the motion. I <br /> Motion carried. II <br /> Associated Students of University of Oregon Day Care Center - Mrs. I' <br /> 16. Hayward reported II <br /> that she had attended the dedication of a day care center sponsored by the ASUO. II <br /> The center is operated on a cooperative basis and will provide care for children II <br /> of low income students. She felt it would fill a real need. il <br /> - <br /> 17. Rate Increase, Northwest Natural Gas - Northwest Natural Gas has petitioned the II' <br /> II <br /> Public Utilities Commissioner for a revised rate. II <br /> II <br /> II <br /> Mrs. Hayward said she would be willing to attend if it were in Eugene. ,Parks Director I: <br /> said it was his understanding the luncheon was to be in Florence, and Mr. Williams ,I <br /> II <br /> said he would attend, since he will be in the coastal area at that time. <br /> 19. Correspondence - Manager circulated correspondence recently received which would be of il <br /> interest to the Council.
