<br />Public Works Director reviewed the bi.ds submitted. Acceptance of low bid on each of
<br />the projects was recommended.

<br />Councilman Williams asked if there is possibility of bids being withdrawn on the 2nd
<br />Avenue sewer (Item 2) in view of the differential between the low bid and the others sub-
<br />mitted. Public Works Director said there has been no indication of withdrawal.
<br />
<br />Councilman Keller asked about the difference between budgeted cost ($3,500.00) and
<br />estimated cost ($22,200.00) and cost to City ($11,301.69) on the Echo Hollow storm sewer.
<br />Public Works Director explained that it was planned to do only a part of the p~oject
<br />when funds were budgeted. Since passage of bond issue for public works improvements, it
<br />was decided to combine, storm sewer and paving for Echo Hollow Road rather than accom-
<br />plishing the work under two separate jobs. Balance of the funds will be budgeted
<br />next year. Counciman He:r>shner questioned the total cost shown on the tabulation in
<br />relation to the bid price - some $2000 more than bid. There was ,no explanation.

<br />Mrs. Beal moved seconded by Mr. Williams to award contracts to low bidders
<br />on each project as recommended. Rollcall vote. All councilmen present
<br />voting aye, motion carried.
