Referring to <br />Section 1 of the proposed ordinance which states that an election will be held <br />the first Tuesday of November of every even-numbered year, he said other <br />elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday. <br /> <br />Responding to a question from Mayor Obie, Mr. Sercombe said the only change to <br />the Nuclear Free Eugene Act in the proposed ordinance indicates that the <br />Nuclear Free Zone Board will not be appointed until the Nuclear Free Zone Task <br />Force has completed its work. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />Council Bill 2944 was read the second time by council bill number only. <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman moved, that the bill be approved and given final <br />passage. <br /> <br />The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br />Mr. Holmer moved, seconded by Ms. Schue, to amend Section 5(1) <br />of the Nuclear Free Eugene Act to indicate that the election <br />of the Eugene Nuclear Free Zone Board will occur on the first <br />Tuesday after the first Monday of November of every even- <br />numbered year. The motion carried unanimously, 8:0. <br /> <br />The amended Council Bill 2944 was read the second time by council bill number <br />only. <br /> <br />Ms. Ehrman moved, seconded by Mr. Holmer, that the bill be <br />approved and given final passage.
