2005 Legislative Session IGR Commitee Bill Approval May 23, 2005 <br /> <br /> Prohibits facially neutral housing policy that adversely impacts disabled persons or other <br /> 3ersons due to their race, color, sex, marital status, source of income, familial status, religion <br /> or national origin to greater extent than it adversely impacts persons generally. Prohibits <br /> discrimination against disabled persons or discrimination due to race, color, sex, marital status, <br /> source of income, familial status, religion or national origin by multiple listing service, real <br /> estate brokers' organization or other service, organization or facility relating to business of <br /> selling or renting dwellings. Requires Commissioner of Bureau of Labor and Industries to <br /> investigate complaint of discrimination within 30 days of filing of complaint. Allows court trial for <br /> violation. Allows attorney fees. Imposes civil penalties. Reactivates property tax exemption for <br /> single-unit housing in distressed urban areas. Extends period during which applications for <br /> exemption may be made. Permits condominiums to be eligible for either single-unit or multiple- <br /> SB 0299 2 Support unit housing property tax exemption. Creates crime of housing intimidation. Punishes by maxim~ 3/09 <br /> Specifies circumstances under which peace officer and corrections officer may use deadly <br /> physical force. Requires recording of grand jury proceedings under certain circumstances. <br /> Allows disclosure of record unless certain findings are made. Requires district attorney to <br /> investigate incidents in which public safety officer's use of deadly physical force results in death <br /> or serious physical injury. Takes effect on <br /> effective date of constitutional amendment or revision that exempts taxes imposed under Act <br /> SB 0308 2 Oppose from property tax limitations in Oregon Constitution. 3/17 <br /> Requires Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services to adopt rules <br /> specifying limitations on travel for workers attending required medical examinations for <br /> workers' compensation claims and requiring distribution of educational materials about <br /> examination process to workers by insurers and self-insured employers. Requires Board of <br /> Medical Examiners to adopt professional and ethical standards and to establish and maintain <br /> list of physicians qualified to conduct required medical examinations for workers' compensation <br /> claims. Requires board to adopt process for investigation of complaints about required medical <br /> SB 0311 2 Oppose examinations. 1/25 <br /> Expands crime of unlawful distribution of ephedrine, pseudoephedrine or <br /> phenylpropanolamine by requiring record of sale or transfer.
