2005 Legislative Session IGR Commitee Bill Approval May 23, 2005 <br /> <br /> Prohibits facially neutral housing policy that adversely impacts disabled persons or other <br /> persons due to their race, color, sex, marital status, source of income, familial status, religion <br /> or national origin to greater extent than it adversely impacts persons generally. Prohibits <br /> discrimination against disabled person or discrimination due to race, color, sex, marital status, <br /> source of income, familial status, religion or national origin by multiple listing service, real <br /> estate brokers' organization or other service, organization or facility relating to business of <br /> selling or renting dwellings. Requires Commissioner of Bureau of Labor and Industries to <br /> investigate complaint of discrimination within 30 days of filing of complaint. Allows court trial for <br /> SB 0706 2 Support violation. Allows attorney fees. Imposes civil penalties. 3/09 <br /> Entitles contractor on public contract or contractor's surety to recover from Commissioner of <br /> Bureau of Labor and Industries reasonable attorney fees, expert witness fees, costs and <br /> disbursements and any other costs and expenses incurred by contractor and contractor's <br /> surety in investigating, responding to and resolving claim against contractor's payment bond if <br /> commissioner's actual recovery from contractor's payment bond, through settlement, civil <br /> SB 0707 2 Oppose action or otherwise, is less than 90 percent of amount of claim stated in notice of claim. 3/24 <br /> Defines isolated wetlands and marginal wetlands for purposes of regulation of removal and <br /> filling of material. Allows removal and filling of material in certain isolated and marginal <br /> wetlands and in wetlands of less than one acre in size to occur without permit. Allows city with <br /> population of 50,000 or fewer persons to develop approval or denial procedures for <br /> idevelopment permits, building permi.ts or actions that affect marginal and isolated wetlands. <br /> SB 0710 2 Oppose Declares emergency, effective on passage. 3/09 <br /> Transfers functions relating to management of wetlands, removal of materials from beds or <br /> banks of waters of state and filling of waters of state from Department of State Lands to State <br /> SB 0711 2 Oppose Department of Agriculture. 3/09 <br /> Directs office of State Fire Marshal to adopt fire safety standards for cigarettes. Requires <br /> cigarette manufacturer to certify that manufacturer's cigarettes meet fire safety standards <br /> before cigarettes may be sold in state. Appropriates moneys to office of State Fire Marshal for <br /> establishing fire safety standards for cigarettes. Imposes civil penalties.
