Requires <br /> cigarette manufacturer to certify that manufacturer's cigarettes meet fire safety standards <br /> before cigarettes may be sold in state. - } { - Appropriates moneys to office of State Fire <br /> Marshal for establishing fire safety standards for cigarettes. - } { - Imposes civil penalties. - } { + <br /> Directs State Fire Marshal to test each variety of cigarette sold in state to determine if variety is <br /> fire-safe and to publish list of varieties determined to be tire-safe. Prohibits distribution or sale <br /> of cigarette within state unless cigarette is of variety listed as tire-safe. Allows State Fire <br /> Marshal to impose civil penalties for unlawful distribution or sale. Appropriates moneys <br /> recovered from imposition of civil penalties to Department of State Police for use by office of <br /> State Fire Marshal for fire safety, enforcement and fire prevention programs. + } Declares <br /> SB 0738A 2 Support emergency, effective on passage. 4/28 <br /> Requires cities and counties to establish registry of urban planners qualified to act in lieu of <br /> planning and zoning hearings officers to review application for development permit. Authorizes <br /> applicant to choose to have qualified urban planner act in lieu of hearings officer to review <br /> SB 0869 2 Oppose application for development permit. 4/07 <br /> SB 0894 2 Oppose Defines 'freight route' for purpose of prohibition on reduction of capacity of state highways. 3/09 <br /> Declares statewide land use planning goals relating to transportation planning advisory only. <br /> Requires Land Conservation and Development Commission to consider impact of goals on <br /> SB 0897 2 Oppose economic development. 3/17 <br /> Creates crime of criminal mistreatment in first degree. Punishes by maximum of 10 years' <br /> imprisonment, $250,000 fine, or both. Reclassifies existing crimes of criminal mistreatment. <br /> Creates crime of endangering welfare of minor in first degree. Punishes by maximum of 20 <br /> years' imprisonment, $375,000 fine, or both. Expands definitions of 'abuse' and 'public or <br /> private official' for purposes of child abuse reporting laws.
