3. WORK SESSION: Mapping Value in Eugene <br />Economic Development Planner Anne Fifield and Urban Development Manager Will Dowdy <br />gave a presentation about an analysis conducted by the Planning and Development Department <br />printed in a booklet titled Mapping Value in Eugene, Oregon. <br />Council Discussion <br />• These maps allow us to engage in more intelligent decision-making. <br />• Looking at the taxable revenue/return derived from different properties vs. what it costs to <br />deliver services, there's a ratio - the next step is to collection information about the impact <br />of delivering services and begin to generate that kind of comparison. <br />• These graphs show why downtown is so important, it's the economic engine of our city. <br />• Helpful to plan for new growth or redevelopment. <br />• Opportunity to use document to spur conversations and understanding around development. <br />4.
