PUBLIC HEARING: STREET VACATION LOCATED WEST OF JACOBS STREET, SOUTH OF <br /> CONCORD AVENUE (Solvang Associates) (SV 81-3) (memo, map, background <br /> information distributed) <br /> Jerry Jacobson, Planning Department staff, said this street vacation was <br /> previously postponed on May 26, 1982. The applicant still needs additional time <br /> to obtain the necessary signatures of affected property owners. The staff <br /> recommended the Council postpone the public hearing to August 11, 1982. <br /> Bill Close, attorney representing an opponent to the vacation, said he would <br /> wait to testify at the public hearing on August 11, 1982. <br /> CB 2478--An ordinance authorizing vacation of a 46-foot-radius <br /> cul-de-sac on Marshall Avenue and a 12-foot-wide pedes- <br /> trian-bikeway easement linking the Marshall Avenue <br /> cul-de-sac and Jacobs Street. <br /> Ms. Miller moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to postpone the public <br /> hearing and action on this item until August 11, 1982. Roll call <br /> vote; motion carried unanimously. <br />e <br /> V. RESOLUTION REGARDING ROOM TAX REVENUE ALLOCATION (memo, resolution <br /> distributed) <br /> Angus Anderson said, as the memorandum stated, the present allocation of <br /> room tax revenue is 40 percent for the operation and maintenance of the Eugene <br /> Performing Arts Center, 25 percent for cultural and recreational programs of the <br /> Parks and Recreation Department, 25 percent for tourism and visitors develop- <br /> ment, and 10 percent for maintenance and construction of facilities. <br /> Mr. Anderson said an amendment to alter the allocation recommends 45 percent for <br /> the operation and maintenance of the Performing Arts Center and Conference <br /> Center, 25 percent for tourism and visitors development, 20 percent for local <br /> professional performing arts companies, and 10 percent for cultural and recrea- <br /> tional programs of the Parks and Recreation Department. <br /> Ms. Smith said the dollar figures would not change much. The major change is <br /> that the programs for local performing arts companies would now be administered <br /> by the Performing Arts and Conference Center department. <br /> Res.
