Roll call vote; the motion carried <br /> unanimously, 8:0. <br /> Mayor Obie hoped the revised ordinance would not be burdensome for the <br /> community. <br /> V. REPORT ON 1985 REGULAR LEGISLATIVE SESSION (memo, background information <br /> distributed) <br /> City Manager Micheal Gleason introduced the agenda item. Jody Miller of the <br /> Intergovernmental Relations Division gave the staff report. She said the City <br /> staff worked on 136 priority bills. Time was spent on the sales tax, lottery, <br /> support for the University of Oregon, new revenues, protection of the home <br /> rule authority, and pre-paid ambulance service. There was a 95 percent <br /> success rate. The area will receive $50 million in construction funds. <br /> Ms. Miller said the staff is using a computer system to institute a policy <br /> review of bills instead of reviewing each bill. <br />e Ms. Miller thanked members of the legislative subcommittee and other <br /> councilors for their work during the legislative session. She also thanked <br /> the legislative coordinators in each City department. She expressed apprecia- <br /> tion for the work of Grattan Kerans, the City lobbyist. <br /> Ms. Schue thanked the mayor for his work during the legislative session. UPDATE ON DESIGN OF AIRPORT TERMINAL PROJECT ,/ <br /> Director of Aviation Bob Shelby introduced Bob Mention of Mention Hanns <br /> Associates, the project architect, and Frank Silkwood of TRA, the airport <br /> consultant to Mention Hanns who reported on the design of the expansion of <br /> Mahlon Sweet Field.
