B. Alley Vacation-East/west alley located between Broadway Street
and West 10th Avenue from Monroe Street to Adams Street (City of
Eugene) (AV 77-1)
e (Recommended by Planning Commission May 23, 1977 with a unanimous
vote)
Mr. Saul said the vacation was requested by the Parks Department in
order to facilitate the development of Monroe Park. A public
utility easement would be retained through the alley as there was
a sanitary sewer located there.
C.B. 1523--Vacating alley east/west located between Broadway Street and
West 10th Avenue from Monroe Street to Adams Street and
retaining public utility easement was read by number and
title only, there being no Council member present requesting
it be read in full.
Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Mr. Delay, that the bill be read
the second time by council bill number only, with unanimous
consent of the Council, and that enactment be considered at
this time. Motion carried unanimously, and the bill was read
the second time by council bill number only.
Mr. Hamel moved, seconded by Mr. Delay, that the bill be approved
and given final passage. Roll call vote. All Council members
present voting aye, the bill was declared passed and numbered
18037.
---------------
IX. Public Hearing: Change of Sign District, located southeast of corner
e of 5th Avenue West and Washin ton Street (Lew Williams Inc.)(SDBC 77-1)
Recommended by Planning Commission July 11, 19 with unanimous vote.
Mr. Saul said when the Sign District was signed in 1968, the area in
question had retained a residential sign district because it was resi-
dentially developed. Since that time, development has changed con-
siderably and it is now developed in accordance with M-2 zoning. The
Planning Commission recommended the change in sign district to conform
to the zoning.
In calling for ex parte contacts or conflicts of interest, Mr.
Obie noted he had a conflict of interest and would be abstaining.
No other Councilors declared ex parte contacts or conflicts of
interest. Planning Commission Staff Notes and Minutes of July 5,
1977 were received as part of the record by reference thereto.
Public hearing was opened.
Bob Moren, representative of Lew Williams, was available for questions.
Public hearing was closed, there being no further testimony
presented.
e
8/10/77--10
biD
