2005 Legislative Session IGR Committee Bill Approval June 13, 2005 <br /> <br /> Requires mandatory withholding of income tax from distributions from employer- <br /> sponsored retirement plans. Requires mandatory withholding of income tax when <br /> Oregon real property interests are sold by nonresidents. Applies to distributions and <br /> sales occurring on or after January 1, 2006. Allows local governments that impose <br /> ~ersonal income tax that meets certain requirements to request that Department of <br /> Revenue provide collection services, including collection of tax on state income tax <br /> return forms. Appropriates moneys from Local Income Tax Collections Fund to <br /> Department of Revenue for distribution to local governments. Authorizes state <br /> agencies, boards and commissions that issue occupational or professional licenses <br /> to require licensees to demonstrate and maintain tax compliance as condition of <br /> ~ssuance or renewal of license. Authorizes Department of Revenue to adopt rules that <br /> require payers of certain types of payments identified by department to withhold <br /> HB 2487 2 Support/Am income tax from payments. Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die. 3/17 <br /> HB 2488 2 Oppose Requires only persons under 21 years of age to wear motorcycle helmets. 3/09 <br /> HB 2496 2 Support Prohibits smoking in places of employment. Specifies certain exceptions. 3/09 <br /> Creates crime of endangering welfare of minor in first degree. Punishes by maximum <br /> HB 2508 2 Support of five years' imprisonment, $125,000 fine, or both. 3/09 <br /> Prohibits discrimination against persons in specified areas of law based on sexual <br /> orientation. Defines 'sexual orientation.' Authorizes enforcement of prohibition through <br /> civil action for actual and punitive damages. Authorizes attorney fees in civil <br /> proceedings for unlawful discrimination. Requires state agencies to eliminate <br /> discrimination against persons based on sexual orientation. Takes effect on 91st day <br /> HB 2519 2 Support following adjournment sine die. 3/09 <br /> Imposes malt beverage cost recovery fee on malt beverages. Distributes moneys to <br /> cities and counties for alcohol and drug abuse and mental health preventive, early <br /> intervention and treatment services, public health services, law enforcement <br /> purposes related to mental health and addiction activities, drug-free housing efforts <br /> HB 2533 2 Support/Am and drug court program funding. 3/17 <br /> Prohibits contracting agency from canceling, rejecting, delaying or suspending <br /> solicitation, bid, proposal or award because bidder or proposer is engaged in labor <br /> HB 2540 2 Oppose dispute. 4/14 <br /> <br /> Page 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
