Rezoning From RA to R-2 Property Located at the Southeast Corner of <br />9th Avenue and Hayes Street (Booth) (Z 79-4) (Map Distributed)--Unani- <br />mously recommended by the Planning Commission on April 13, 1979. <br /> <br />Mr. Saul said that this involves 8,750 square feet and is vacant at <br />this time. Under the existing zoning, the property could be developed <br />as a duplex; under the proposed zoning, it could be developed as a <br />tri-plex. This is a small area of the city where the Planning Commis- <br />sion and the City Council have been attempting to encourage residential <br />development over the past several years. The commitment of funds for <br />improvement of the park located just south of this area, as well as <br />the denial of several zone changes that would have resulted in conver- <br />sion of residential property to non-residential use, are indications <br />of this encouragement. One of the denials was for this property for <br />a conversion to C-1. <br /> <br />No exparte contacts or conflicts of interest were declared by <br />Councilors. <br /> <br />Staff notes and minutes were entered into the record. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Public hearing was held, with no testimony presented. <br /> <br />CB 18B6--Authorizing rezoning from RA to R-2 property located at the <br />southeast corner of 9th Avenue and Hayes Street was read by <br />council bill number and title only, there being no Councilor <br />present requesting it be read in full. <br /> <br />Mr. Delay moved, seconded by Mr. Hamel, that findings supporting <br />the rezoning as set forth in Planning Commission staff notes and <br />minutes of April 3, 1979, be adopted by reference thereto; that <br />the bill be read the second time by council bill number only, with <br />unanimous consent of the Council; and that enactment be considered <br />at this time.
