Sign District Boundary Changes SDBD 79-1 through 79-15
Ma s Distributed
Manager noted there were 15 ordinances necessary to correct the sign
district to conform with the existing zoning district. In one case,
signs would be required to be moved, Item 14--19th and Agate Street
area.
Mr. Saul indicated that in the last seven or eight years, the City has
failed to change the sign district when zoning was changed. The 19th
and Agate and the Willamette Street were simple errors at the time the
Sign Code was adopted. They were not assigned sign districts. At the
Planning Commission meeting people testified for the retention of the
residential zoning at 19th and Agate. The Commission decided in favor
of the change to commercial. Mr. Saul referred to a letter from
Jensen, Billington, and Kent, attorneys, and passed photos of the
structure involved. He said the property was rezoned from industrial
to residential professional a year ago. The Planning Commission had
assigned a sign zoning of residential to the property. There is not a
question of size of the sign the attorneys want to be allowed as it is
allowed by residential district signing. The only question is one of
location, and that could be dealt with by a waiver or an appeal. The
e letter deals with the situation particular to that structure.
8/13/79--9
/.f3?
