Public Works Bid Awards (tabulation attached)--Mr. Henry stated <br /> that all blds are belng recommended wlth the exception of Bid Number <br /> 7, speed devices on Augusta Street, which is not being recommended <br /> at this time since there will be a hearing on this matter later. <br /> Don Gilman, Public Works, said that these bids consist of 17 projects, <br /> the bids for which were opened on August 5 and August 7. The bid <br /> summaries were distributed with the recommendation to award to the <br /> appropriate bidders in each case. Six bids would be at City cost, <br /> three were petitions by the property owners, and seven were regarding <br /> subdivision development. They would recommend awarding all except <br /> for Project 2 of Bid Number 7, speed devices on Augusta Street. <br /> This is in the Laurel Hill neighborhood and it is a Community <br /> Development project. It would narrow the street from 36 feet to <br /> 24 feet. There is one protest on this project and a hearing is <br /> scheduled for September 8, 1980. <br /> Public hearing was opened; there being no testimony, public hearing <br /> was closed. <br /> Ms. Smith moved, seconded by Mr. Lieuallen, to award all the <br /> low bids and sign the contracts with the exception of project <br /> e 2 of bid number 7, speed devices on Augusta Street. <br /> 8/11/80--5 <br />
