Appointments <br />e Michea1 Gleason, City Manager, stated that the Mayor has nominated the following <br /> individuals to the Downtown Development Board: David lunney, 580 West 8th, to <br /> complete the unexpired term of Mary Farrell ending January 1, 1982; and Nita <br /> Robertson, 1436 Fetters loop, to complete the unexpired term of Dan Childress <br /> ending January 1, 1982. Mr. Gleason stated that the Mayor would also like to <br /> nominate Errol McPheeters to the Eugene Traffic Safety Commission. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to appoint the Mayor's <br /> nominations to the Downtown Development Board and to the Eugene <br /> Traffic Safety Commission. <br /> Mr. Obie stated he is pleased with Ms. Robertsonls appointment as she has <br /> expressed concern in the past regarding downtown employees I parking. <br /> Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> F. Appointments to Joint Housing Committee, Eugene Urban Renewal Agency, <br /> and Community Development Committee <br /> Mr. Gleason stated that at a special City Council meeting held this morning, the <br /> following appointments were made to the Joint Housing Committee: Carolyn <br /> Freng1e, 1791 Olive, for a term expiring January 1, 1984; and John Vanlandingham, <br /> 1172 West 5th Avenue, for a term expiring January 1, 1984. The fo 11 owi ng <br /> appointments were made to the Eugene Urban Renewal Agency: Dustin Posner, 983 <br /> West 10th Avenue, for a term expiring July 10, 1985; John Matott, 2226 Columbia, <br /> for a term expiring July 10, 1985; and Tom Schott, 2011 Dogwood Drive, to <br />e complete the unexpired term of Jack Delay ending July 10, 1984. The fo 11 owi ng <br /> appointments were made to the Community Development Committee: A1 an Garten, 119 <br /> North Adams, to complete the unexpired term of Deirdre Malarkey ending January 1, <br /> 1982. <br /> Mr. Obie moved, seconded by Ms. Smith, to approve the recommenda- <br /> t ions for appo i ntment. Roll call vote; motion carried unanimously. <br /> G. Joint School District 4-J and City Council Meeting <br /> Mr. Gleason stated that a joint meeting between School District 4-J and the City <br /> Council will be held at 7:30 p.m. The date is tentatively scheduled for <br /> August 18, and it will be a dessert meeting. St aff wi 11 have made recommendat ions <br /> prior to that meeting and the school board will explain their position to the <br /> counci 1. This will give the council a chance to explain their concerns of the <br /> impact on the planning program. <br /> H. Changes in Motor Vehicles Division Services <br /> Mr. Gleason stated that the Motor Vehicles Divisionis field office will move <br /> to a new location in the Edgewood Shopping Center at 40th and Donald. The south <br /> Eugene office will provide increased customer parking and lobby space. <br /> Ms. Miller asked about earlier concerns expressed by the public on a possible <br /> relocation of a motor vehicles office from Franklin Boulevard. <br />e MINUTES--Eugene City Council July 22, 1981 Page 2 <br />
