Supervisor spoke with <br />RP's father to relay the information and instructions for <br />proceeding. <br />9/13/18 9/14/18 1 Inquiry <br />Dismissed: <br />Other <br />RP requested a further look in to her <br />son's death. <br />Dismissed: Other Review of reports and body <br />cam by the Auditor found the medical examiner took over the <br />investigation at the scene and further review must be done <br />through that office. <br />9/13/18 9/21/18 8 Incident Review <br />Performance <br />RP was unhappy with an interaction with <br />police and dispatchers when she called <br />about a man sleeping in front of her <br />office doorway. <br />Sgt. learned that because of call load officers were not <br />dispatched for an hour after the initial call. Call takers were <br />professional and courteous with RP and attempted to explain the <br />issue to RP. Sgt. spoke with RP about her concerns and provided <br />advice on how to handle similar issues in the future. <br />9/6/18 9/17/18 11 Performance RP was upset how officers handled an <br />incident in the stands at a Duck game. <br />Lt. reviewed body cam and found that the officer had missed a <br />key detail about the situation which lead to RP becoming upset <br />with the officer. Lt. spoke with RP about his findings and went <br />over the situation with the officer. <br />9/14/18 10/11/18 27 Inquiry RP is unhappy that an officer will not <br />assist her in getting a LTD video of a man <br />who ran over her foot on the bus. <br />Sgt. learned that the officer had extensively investigated the <br />issue and found that is was a civil issue with no criminal element. <br />Sgt. explained the situation to RP and provided information <br />about filing a civil court claim. <br />9/14/18 10/19/18 35 Performance RP was unhappy that officers refused to <br />give her the contact information for the <br />other driver in an accident. <br />Sgt. reviewed the incident and found that the officer had <br />completed a police report. Body cam showed the officer spoke <br />with RP and explained how to get the report and were polite and <br />courteous with RP. Sgt. found that the officers in the name of <br />customer service should have also provided the information to <br />RP at the scene. <br />9/17/18 10/15/18 28 Performance RP were unhappy that an officer would <br />not verify insurance information after an <br />accident. <br />Sgt. spoke with RP about EPD policy of only facilitating <br />information exchange and not doing a report for non injury <br />accidents. <br />June 19, 2019, Work Session – Item 2
