Eugene -Springfield Area Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan <br />1. Mitigation Planning <br />their own specific annexes to better explain sector -specific risks and mitigation <br />strategies. <br />The Project Team supporting the 2020 Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan update <br />was composed of the following individuals: <br />• Jessica Gourley — Project Manager — City of Eugene <br />• Kevin Holman — City of Eugene <br />• Carrie Karl — City of Eugene <br />• Ken Vogeney — City of Springfield <br />• Jeannine Parisi — Eugene Water and Electric Board <br />• Tracy Richardson — Springfield Utility Board <br />• Jamie Porter— Rainbow Water District <br />In addition to the 2020 Project Team, a Steering Committee and an Advisory <br />Board were formed. Together these entities compose the NHMP Update <br />Committee. A fourth group involved in the plan development included the public. <br />Each group was responsible for the following: <br />• Project Team was responsible for physically updating and editing the <br />NHMP. <br />• Steering Committee was composed of departments and sub -plan holders <br />responsible for implementing mitigation items. (Appendix B lists the <br />members of the committee.) <br />• Advisory Board stakeholders, though not responsible for implementation, <br />lent their knowledge based on their experience, training, or insight to help <br />develop mitigation items. <br />• The Community — residents of Eugene and Springfield were engaged <br />throughout the NHMP process to offer their insight, input, concerns, and <br />support for hazards as well as possible mitigation items. <br />A more detailed description and associated documentation of the planning process <br />are provided in Appendix B: Planning and Public Process. <br />1.4.2 Natural Hazards <br />This plan focuses on natural hazards affecting Eugene and Springfield. <br />1.4.3 Mission <br />The mission of the 2020 NHMP Update Committee was to identify and reduce <br />vulnerabilities to natural hazards, and to make the Cities of Eugene and <br />Springfield more resilient to disasters. <br />1-4 January 2020 <br />
