X11} The prohibition against ~~ discrimination, distinction or restriction because of familial status and age i n this section does not apply with respect to haus i ng for older persons . For the purpose of this subsection, ~'hous~ng for older persons' means housing: ~ a } Provided under any ~ state or federal program that i s spec~f~cally designed and operated to assist elderly persons, as defined by the state or federal program; fib} Intended far, and solely occupied by, persons fiZ years of age or older; or ~c} Intended and operated far occupancy by at least one person 55 years of age or older per unit. Housing qualifies as hous ~ ng for older persons under th ~ s subparagraph i f I. Significant ~ facil hies and services are specifically designed to meet the physical or social needs of older persons or, i f provi si on of such foci 1 i ti es and services i s not practicable, such ,housing i s necessary to provide important housing opportun~t~es for older persons; 2 .
