Sections 9.734, 9.136 and 9.135 of the Eugene Code, 1911, <br />are amended to provide: <br />9.134 Buildin Official Authorit . <br />~1} The building official may grant variances to the regulations <br />prescribed by this ordinance with respect to fences and walls, site area, <br />width, frontage, depth, coverage, distance between structures, and off-street <br />parking foci 1 i ti es i n accordance with the procedures prescribed i n sections <br />9.132 to 9.14fi. <br />~ 2 } The bui 1 di ng official may grant variances to the regulations <br />prescribed i n the Eugene sign code according to the procedures prescribed i n <br />sections 9.132 to 9.146, except that the bui 1 di ng official may not grant vari - <br />ances based on the canven i ence of the applicant, including any hardship of <br />regional or national businesses which wish to use a standard sign when those <br />do not conform to the provisions of the sign code. <br />9.736 Variance Application. <br />~ 1 } An application and related information shall be submitted by <br />the applicant i n the manner prescribed by the city, together with the fee <br />set by the city manager pursuant to section 2.020 of this code. <br />~2} A person may not apply for a variance to allow a sign for <br />which there has been an application for the same or a substantially similar <br />sign on the same development site which has been denied within the preceding <br />year. <br />9.738 Notice. Within ten days of receipt of a complete and accurate <br />application, and at 1 east ten days before the bui 1 di ng official <br />makes a deci si on, the city shall mai 1 notice of the request to abutting <br />property owners and occupants, including properties that would be abutting <br />were i t not for intervening streets or al 1 eys . <br />Ordinance - 4 <br />
