approved campsites, <br />3. Fires set and maintained for training public fire <br />protection personnel in fire fighting. <br />4. Fires set and maintained by written permission of <br />the chief to remove or alleviate afire hazard. <br />~cj No person may accumulate or allow to accumulate on pre- <br />mises under his or her control materials that the chief deems to <br />constitute afire hazard. The chief or his or her representative <br />shall notify such a person of the hazard. Within 72 hours after <br />receiving the notice the person shall remove the hazard. <br />X28} Section II.1D2 through I1.II6 pertaining to incinerators and <br />open burning are deleted from the Uniform Fire Code. <br />X29} Section I1.2o1 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to add: <br />fie} Storage of Tires. Tires may not be stored without a <br />permit. a permit may beissued if the applicant shows the follow- <br />ing conditions can be met: <br />1. Piles of tires will be located nD closer than 2D feet <br />from any property line or structure; <br />2. Tire stacks are within a liquid-tight dike suffi- <br />cient to contain flammable liquids produced by burning tires <br />and any run-off from fire streams. <br />3. The affected run-off will not overflow into a water- <br />way. <br />4. all weeds, vines or other growth within ZO feet of <br />the outside of the diked area are removed. <br />EXCEPTION: Tires may be stored on a business ar residential <br />site without a permit only if condition 1. above is met and the <br />following two conditions are met; <br />I. No more than 25 tires are stored in one pile on a <br />site; <br />2. No more than three piles of tires spaced no less <br />than 2D feet apart are permitted on a site; <br />X30} Section 14.106 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended by amend- <br />ing subparagraph ~a} thereof to read: <br />~a} Maintenance and Testi n . All fire alarm systems shal l be <br />maintained and tested as set forth i n this article on an annual <br />basis , A cert i f i cote showing that the fire alarm system was tested <br />shall be submitted to the chief no later than 30 days fallowing the <br />date of testing. <br />X31} Section 25.111 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to read: <br />Section 25.II7 - Standb Firewatch. whenever, in the opinion of <br />the chief, it is essential for public safety in any public assembly or any <br />other place where people congregate, due to the number of persons, or the <br />nature of the performance, exhibition, display, contest or activity, the <br />owner, agent ar lessee shall employ one or more qualified persons as re- <br />quired and approved by the chief, to be on duty at such place. Such indi- <br />viduals shall comply with any order of the chief when so employed and shall <br />be in uniform and remain on duty during the times such places are open to <br />the public, or when such activity is being conducted. Before each perform- <br />ance or the start of such activity, such individuals shall inspect the <br />required fire appliances provided to see that they are i n proper place and <br />in good working order, and shall keep diligent watch for fires during the <br />time such place ~s open to the public or such activity is being conducted <br />ordinance - 7 <br />
