Ord.~inanc.~~ - 26 <br />each story. All standpipes shall be equipped with a three~- <br />way 2.112 inch outlet above the roof line when the roof has <br />a pitch of less than four inches in 12. Roof outlets are not <br />required for roofs with a pitch greater than four inches in <br />12. A11 outlets shall be installed so that a 12 inch wrench <br />may be used in connecting the hose, with a wrench clearance <br />on all sides of the outlet. A standpipe located in a smoke- <br />proof enclosure shall have an outlet in a vestibule or bal- <br />cony. A11 such outlets shall be provided with 10D feet of <br />1-1/~ inch, approved-fabric hose that is equipped with an <br />adjustable law-pressure spray nozzle that is approved by the <br />fire department. An approved hose and nozzle shall be <br />installed in a hose cabinet, and a dripcock or drain connec- <br />tion likewise approved shall be located between the standpipe <br />outlet and the hose. Roof outlets and outlets in buildings <br />or portions of buildings equipped with a complete automatic <br />fire extiniguishing system may not be provided with hoses. <br />In areas subject tv freezing, wet standpipe systems shall be <br />protected from freezing. <br />6. Signs, An approved, durable sign with raised letters <br />at least one inch high shall be permanent]y attached to all <br />fire department connections and test connections and shall <br />read: "Combination standpipe and test connection." <br />~12~ Subsection 1215 m ,Alternates, of Appendix Chapter 12 is <br />hereby amended to provide: <br />~m~ No alternate method of obtaining the fire protection <br />and safety required by this section may be used unless speci- <br />fically provided for by the structural specialty code, as <br />amended, or sections 107, 108, and 109 of the administrative <br />code, or unless the board of appeals finds that such alternate <br />method provides protection and safety equivalent to that re- <br />qui red herein . <br />Section 5. A caption and Section 8.050 is added to the Eugene Code, <br />1971, to read and provide: <br />One and Two Family Dwellin Specialty Code <br />8.050 One and Two Family Dwellin S ecialty Code. <br />~1~ As amended by this section the One and Two Family Dwelling <br />Specialty Cade has adopted by the State of Oregon Department of Commerce pur- <br />suant to ORS 456.75D to 456.885} as now enacted or hereafter amended is <br />hereby adopted and violation thereof shall constitute an offense against the <br />city, <br />~ 2} Chapter 1 of the One and Twa Family Dwel 1 i ng Specialty Code <br />is not enacted. <br />~3~ There omissions or conflicts occur between the One and Two <br />Family Dwelling Specialty Code and the Oregon State Structural Specialty Code <br />and Fire and Life Safety Regulations, the Structural Code shall prevail. <br />
