Each fire department connection shall be located on a <br />street front not less than 18 inches nor mare than four feet <br />above grade and shall be equipped with an approved strai ht- <br />wa check vale g <br />Y e and substantial plugs or caps. All fire de- <br />partment connections shall be inspected against mechanical <br />injury and be visible and accessible. The number of fire <br />department connections shall be the number that the fire de- <br />partment finds necessary for adequate fire protection. <br />~5} Outlets. Every standpipe shall be equipped with a <br />Z-1/Z" outlet with adapters for 1-1/Z inch hose not less than <br />two feet nor more than four feet above the floor level at each <br />story. All standpipes shall be equipped with a three-way <br />Z-1/Z inch outlet above the roof line when the roof has a <br />pitch of less than four inches in 1Z. Roof outlets are not <br />required for roofs with a pitch greater than four inches in <br />12. All outlets shall be installed so that a 1Z inch wrench <br />may be used in connecting the hose, with a wrench clearance <br />on all sides of the outlet.
