the provisions of Section 80.301~q~ when an explosive <br />environment can occur because of the hazardous materials <br />dispensed or used, or as a result of the dispensing or <br />use process. <br />EXCEPTION: When process vessels are designed to <br />fully captain the worst case of explosion antici- <br />pated within the vessel under process conditions <br />considering the mast likely failure. <br />E. Sill control, drains a and containment. Rooms <br />or areas where hazardous material liquids are used in <br />individual tanks or containers exceeding 55 gallons shall <br />be provided with a means to control spills. Secondary <br />containment shall be provided in accordance with the pro- <br />visions of 5ecti0n 80.3011} if the aggregate of multiple <br />tanks or containers exceeds 1,000 gallons. <br />F. S ecial Re uirements for Hi h] Toxic Com ressed <br />Gases. <br />i, ventilated Area. Compressed gas cylinders <br />in use shall be within ventilated gas cabinets, lab- <br />oratory fume hoods, exhausted enclosures or separate <br />gas storage rooms. When portable ar stationary tanks <br />are employed in use or dispensing, they shall be <br />within a ventilated separate gas storage room or <br />placed within an exhausted enclosure. <br />Exhaust systems for gas cabinets, fume hoods, <br />exhausted enclosures or separate gas storage rooms <br />shall be designed to handle the accidental release <br />of gas. Such exhaust systems shall be capable of <br />d~lut~ng, adsorbing, absorbing, neutralizing, burning <br />or otherwise processing the entire contents Of the <br />largest single tank or cylinder of gas in use. Sys- <br />tems far such processing shall be designed as a <br />treatment system. Exhaust vents or stacks shall be <br />located in such a manner as to prevent re-entry of <br />hazardous gases into the building, or their entry <br />into any adjacent building. <br />i i . Gas Cabinets or Exhausted Enclosures . When <br />gas cabinets or exhausted enclosures are provided, <br />they shall be in accordance with the provisions of <br />Section 80.303~a}6.B. Gas cabinets and exhausted <br />enclosures sha11 be internally sprinklered. <br />iii. Se orate Gas Stora a Roams. When separate <br />gas storage rooms are provided, they shall be in <br />accordance with the provisions of Section 80.3o3~a~ <br />6.C. <br />iv. Treatment Systems. When treatment systems <br />are provided, they shall be in accordance with the <br />provisions Of Section 80.303~a~6.D. <br />v. Gas Detection. Gas detection shall be pro- <br />vi ded i n accordance with the provisions of 5ecti on <br />80.303~a~9.
