Fire Access Roadwa s, Fire apparatus access <br />roadways shall be provided to within 150 feet of all por- <br />tions of an exterior dispensing or use area. Such access <br />roadways shal] comply with the provisions of Section <br />lo.lo~. <br />B. Water Su,pp1,~. An approved water supply shall be <br />provided. Fire hydrants ar other approved means capable <br />of supplying the required fire flow shall be provided to <br />w~th~n 150 feet of all portions of an exterior dispensing <br />or use area. The water supply and fire hydrants shall <br />comply with the provisions of Section 10.301. <br />7. Protection from vehicles. Guard posts ar other means <br />shall be,pravided to protect exterior dispensing or use areas <br />from vehicular damage. When guard posts are installed, the <br />posts shall be in accordance with the provisions of Section <br />80.301~w}. <br />8. S ecial Re uirements for Hi hl Toxic Com ressed <br />Gases. <br />A. Gas Cabinets or Local Exhaust. When cylinders yr <br />portable containers are used out-of-doors, gas cabinets <br />or a locally exhausted enclosure shall be provided. When <br />gas cabinets are provided, the installation shall be in <br />accordance with the provisions of Section 80.303~a}fi.B. <br />The required treatment system shall be designed in accord- <br />ance with the provisions of Section. 80.303~a}fi.D, <br />B. Exhaust S stems, Exhaust systems far gas cabinets <br />or locally exhausted enclosures shall be designed to <br />handle the accidental release of gas . Such exhaust sys - <br />tems shall be capable of diluting, adsorbing, absorbing, <br />neutralizing, burning or otherwise processing the entire <br />contents of the largest single tank or cylinder of gas in <br />use. Systems for such processing shall be designed as a <br />treatment system in accordance with the provisions of Sec- <br />tion $0.303~a}fi.D. <br />C. Gas Detection. Gas detection shall be provided <br />in gas cabinets and exhausted enclosures in accordance <br />with the provisions of Section 80.303~a}9. Activation of <br />the monitoring system shall automatically close the shut- <br />off valve on highly toxic or toxic gas supply lines re- <br />lated to the system being monitored. <br />EXCEPTION: Automatic shutdown need not be provided <br />for reactors utilized for the production of toxic or <br />highly toxic gases when such reactors are: <br />1. Operated at pressures less than 15 psig. <br />2, Constantly attended. <br />3. Provided with readily accessible shutoff <br />valves. <br />Ordinance - 70 <br />
