Gas cabinets and <br />exhausted enclosures shall be internally sprinklered. <br />Section 80.403 -Hazardous Materials, Handlin . <br />~a} Scope; The handling of hazardous materials shall comply <br />with the prov~s~ons of this subsection and the general provisions <br />specified in Section 80.401. <br />fib} Containers, C finders, Tanks and Drums. <br />1. All containers, cylinders, tanks, drums or other means <br />for the transport of hazardous materials shall be of an <br />approved type. <br />~. Eiquids in containers exceeding five ~5} gallons shall <br />be transported in a cart, <br />3. When more than two containers of hazardous materials <br />having a hazard ranking of 3 or 4 in accordance with UFC <br />Standard 79-3 are transported within an exit corridor or exit <br />enclosure, they shall be in an appraved cart in conformance <br />with the provisions of Section 80.4o3~c}. <br />4. Hazardous material gas cylinders in transit shall have <br />their protective cylinder caps in place. Cylinders of highly <br />toxic compressed gases shall have their valves capped or plug- <br />ged with an approved closure device, <br />~c} Carts and Trucks. Carts and trucks used tv transport <br />hazardous materials rated 3 or 4 in accordance with UFC Standard <br />79-3 inside buildings within any part of an exit corridor or exit <br />enclosure shal 1 comply with the foi 1 owi ng: <br />EXCEPTIONS: <br />1. Two ~~} hazardaus material liquid containers may <br />be hand-carried in acceptable safety carriers, <br />2. Single drums not exceeding 55 gallans may be <br />transported by suitable drum trucks. <br />3. Cylinders of compressed gases may be transported <br />by acceptable gas cylinder hand trucks, Cylinders not <br />exceeding 25 pounds may be hand carried. <br />4. Solid hazardous materials not exceeding 100 <br />pounds may be transported by acceptable hand trucks. A <br />single container not exceeding 50 pounds may be hand- <br />carri ed , <br />1. Carts and trucks used to transport hazardaus materials <br />shall be designed to provide a stable base far the commodities <br />to be transported and shall have a means of restraining con- <br />tainers against accidental dislodgement. Compressed gas <br />cylinders placed on carts and trucks shall be individually <br />restrained. <br />Z. Carts and trucks shall be provided with a device <br />which will enable the operator to safely control movement by <br />providing stops or speed reduction devices. <br />3. Construction materials for hazardous materials carts <br />or trucks shall be compatible with the material transported. <br />The cart or truck shall be of substantial construction. <br />4. Carts and trucks transporting liquids shall be cap- <br />able of containing a spill from the largest single container <br />transported. <br />5.
