Incompatible materials shall not be transported on <br />the same cart or truck. <br />~d} Emergency Alarm. ~Jhen hazardous materials rated 3 or 4 <br />in accordance with UFC Standard 79-3 .are transported through exit <br />corridors or exit enclosures, there shall be an emergency telephone <br />system, a local manual alarm station or an approved signaling device <br />at not more than 150-foot intervals and at each exit doorway <br />throughout the transport route. The signal shall be relayed to an <br />approved central, proprietary or remote station service or con- <br />stantly attended on-site location and shall also initiate a local <br />audible alarm. <br />~43~ Sections 82.101 through 82.110 Of the Uniform Fire Code are <br />deleted. The following sections are added in their place; <br />Section 82.101 - Li uefied Petroleum Gas, Sco e. This article <br />shall apply to all storage and handling of liquefied petroleum gas and the <br />installation of equipment in systems for such uses. <br />Section 82.102 - Li uefied Petroleum Gas, Standards. NFPA <br />Pamphlets Nos. 58 and 59 and UFC Standards Nos. 82-1 and 82-2 shall govern <br />the design, installation and construction of containers and equipment far the <br />storage and handling of liquefied petroleum gases, including utility gas <br />plants. In case Of a conflict the NFPA Pamphlets shall control. <br />Section 82.103 - Li uefied Petroleum Gas, Definitions. <br />~a~ The term "liquefied petroleum gas" means any material <br />that is composed predominantly of any of the following hydrocarbons <br />ar mixtures of them: Propane, prophlene, butane whether normal <br />butane or iso-butane, and butylene. <br />~b~ The.term "liquefied petroleum gas equipment" means all <br />containers, p~p~ng exclusive of utility distribution piping systems, <br />and equipment pertinent to the storage and handling of liquefied <br />petroleum gas, but no gas-consuming appliances. <br />Section 82,104 - Li uefied Petroleum Gas, Permits, Re arts. The <br />fire marshal shall be notified prior to the tenth of each month by the in- <br />staller of all new installations made during the preceding month of containers <br />or receptacles for liquefied petroleum gas, including installations for pri- <br />vate homes and apartments. The installer shall certify on a form provided <br />by the fire marshal that all such new installations are duly and properly <br />reported. The fire marshal may require that the notification include the <br />location and description of the installation and the name of the user. All <br />fees due and payable as provided in this section shall accompany the notifi- <br />cation. The replacement of empty containers ar receptacles with other con- <br />tainers constructed in accordance with Interstate Commerce Commission spe- <br />cifications shall not be considered such new installation as to require <br />notification t0 the fire marshal or necessitate further inspection of the <br />installation. The fire marshal shall collect from the installer an instal- <br />lation fee as established by the city manager as provided in section 2.020 <br />of the Eugene Code, 1971. <br />Section 82.105 - Li uefied Petroleum Gas, Ins ection. After the <br />initial installation, liquid petroleum gas containers may be inspected Once <br />every 10 years, except when changes have been made in the original installa- <br />tion. The fire marshal shall be notified of such changes in the same manner <br />provided in this section for new installations. The fire marshal shall <br />collect from the owner a fee to be established by the city manager as provided <br />Ordinance - 72 <br />
