which is sufficient in quantity to cause an increase in the quantity which <br />exceeds five ~5} percent far any hazard class. <br />EXCEPTIONS: <br />1. The following elemental metals shall not be considered <br />hazardous materials far the purposes of this Appendix unless they <br />are stored in a friable, powdered or finely divided state: Chromium, <br />Copper, Lead, Nickel and Silver. <br />2. Retail roducts. Materials contained solely in consumer <br />products packaged for distribution ta, and use by, the general <br />public and commercial products used for janitorial ar minor mainten- <br />ance purposes such as paint thinner or wax strippers}. <br />3 . Other except ions . The Chief may exempt materials from the <br />requirements of this Article where it has been satisfactorily demon- <br />strated that the material in quantity and/or solution stored does <br />nat present a potential danger to the public health, safety or wel- <br />f are . <br />III. HAZARDOUS MATERIALS MANAGEMENT PLAN (HMMP) REQUIREMENTS. <br />A. Any person, firm or corporation applying for a permit to store <br />hazardous materials shall provide all requested information and assist in the <br />preparation of an HMMP standard farm or short farm in accordance with this <br />Section. <br />6. Provide a narrative description of the operations and processes tak- <br />ing place at the facility. <br />C. HMMP standard form shall include the following; <br />1. General Site Plan. A general site plan drawn at a legible scale <br />which shall include, but not be limited to, the location of ali build- <br />ings, exterior storage facilities, permanent access ways, parking lots, <br />internal roads, chemical loading areas, equipment cleaning areas, storm <br />and santitary sewer accesses, emergency equipment and adjacent property <br />uses. The exterior storage areas shall be identified with the hazard <br />classes} and the maximum quantities per hazard class of hazardous <br />materials stored. The Chief may also require information regarding the <br />location of wells, flood plains, earthquake faults, surface water bodies <br />and general land uses within one ~~} mile of the facility boundaries, <br />~.
