~9-~S`/ <br />HEARINGS OFFICIAL MINUTES AND FINDINGS <br />SORREL WAS SIDEWALK PROJECT <br />April 12, 1984 <br />1. A public hearing regarding a proposed sidewalk construc- <br />tion project along Sorrel Way was conducted in the City Council <br />Chambers a~~~ April 12,1984, at 7: 3~ P.M. Hearings Official Jack <br />A. Billings presided. <br />2. A staff presentation was made by Dave Reinhard, assisted <br />by Donna Hickey. Mr. Reinhard stated that the purpose of the <br />project on Sorrel Way was to complete gaps in the sidewalks on <br />both sides of Sorrel Way between Coburg Road and Roan Street. <br />That portion of the project between Coburg Road and Rustic Place <br />has been identified in the 1984 Eugene Sidewalk Program document <br />as a high priority area for sidewalk placement. The Harlow <br />Neighbors had requested that sidewalks also be installed on <br />Sorrel Way between Rustic Place and Roan Street. <br />Mr. Reinhard noted that Sorrel Way provides a pedestrian and <br />bicyclist connection between the Oakway Null--Oakmont shopping <br />area on the west and residential areas and Washington Elementary <br />School on the east and north. This connection is along Sorrel, <br />north on Roan and across an easement at the end of Dapple Way to <br />Sunshine Acres Drive. He noted that in the area between Oakmont <br />and Rustic Place there are no sidewalks on either side of Sorrel <br />Way, with the exception of one lot. Between Dartmore and <br />Harnbletonian there are sidewalks on only~the south side of the <br />--1- <br />
