The Selection Co~mittee w~i~.l seek Artists <br />for new con~issivns and also purchase completed, avail- <br />able work, <br />~? ~ The Selection Co~mittee has the ,option of con- <br />ducting an Cpen Competition in two stages, .whereby a <br />limited number of finalists selected from the competition <br />will be asked to submit more detailed proposals. Each <br />finalist in the second stage will be paid a professional <br />fee to be set by the Selection Committee. The Selection <br />Committee has the option of making no selection if there <br />is no proposal judged to be of sufficient merit. If no <br />selection is made, another selection process may be ini- <br />tiated; <br />~g~ Recommend the ft~nd~ be accumulated when it is not <br />feasible to conduct an open competition. However, the follow- <br />ing processes may be followed when the arts fund for a project <br />are under $1,5Qa: <br />~~1~ Zimited Codpetition. To be initiated in cases <br />where it is not feasible to conduct an Open Competition, <br />whereby several Artists are invited to submit proposals <br />to the Selection Committee. Each Artist will be paid <br />a professional fee, ~^!This method may, be. used when in-~ <br />corporating artwork into the design of a building,, and <br />~~~2} Direct Selection, A process whereby a specific <br />piece of artwork is purchased by the Committee, to be <br />followed only when the percentage available for art funds <br />is too low to conduct a competition. Such a purchase <br />shall be~~nade with a professional approach to the selection <br />being of paramount importance; <br />~wh~ ~eco~cnend when an e.~penditure from a specific project <br />is in whole or in part inappropriate, and that such funds from <br />that project may be transferred to other projects; <br />}_. Advertise nationally or internationally for proposals <br />if a project warrants the expense; and <br />~.~7 Serge as jury, with each member having one vote. The <br />Committee shah, act upon a vote o~ the majority of members, <br />4, The Architect shall: <br />~a~..
