Ngtice shall be given to the general public b ost- <br />Yp <br />ing the time and place of the hearing in the city hall. inter- <br />ested persons nay file a memorandum with the city manager in <br />support of or in opposition to the issuance of a license, .At <br />the hearing, if the council determines that the applicant is <br />qualified, that an additional, licensed operator is necessar to <br />meet the needs and r '~ ,y <br />equireme~ts of the city, and that the a.ssu- <br />ance o~ such a license would be in the best interest of the <br />citizens of the. city, it shall order the finance officer to issue <br />the license. If the council finds the applicant is unqualified, <br />that the ad~.itional service is nvt needed, or would not be in <br />the best ,interest of the citizens o~ the city, it shall order <br />the finance off ices to deny the Zicense. The decision of the <br />council shall be final. <br />Section 5. Subsection ~_d~ of Section .3.1,35 of the Eugene Code, <br />19?1, is hereby amended to read and p~o~ide: <br />3 . l3 5 Ambulance -~ Dri~ex and Attendant Re uirements . The <br />finance officer shill issue a license to an ambulance <br />drier, attendant or dri~uer-attendant only upon receipt of proof <br />that the applicant: <br />., <br />~:d ._. zs certified by the state of Oregon pursuant <br />to CRS 485.500 through 485.595 and DRS 677.~1Q through <br />67?.740 yr their successor statutes as an emergency <br />medical technician I, I~T, TIT, or Iv. <br />Section 6. Section 3.140 of the Eugene Code, 19?l, is hereby <br />amended to read and pro~ride: <br />3.14 0 ~rib~ul~a~n~ce D~r%~~rer ~to ~be ~cc~o~panied, <br />~1~ T~h~ri an ambulance ~is operating as a basic life <br />support unit transporting a patient, at least one licensed <br />attendant, state certified at or abo~re an emergency medical <br />technician I training level, shall accompany the driver. <br />~2~ 'then an ambulance is operating as an advanced life <br />support unit transp~rtin~ a patient, at least two licensed atten- <br />dants, one state certified at or abo~re an emergency medical tech- <br />nician III: training level aid one state certified at or above an <br />emergency medical, technician ~ traini~.g level,, shall be in the <br />ambulance..
